The Chariot...

was, by far, the most intense live show I've seen this year, possibly my life. Their set made me all but forget about the fact that I had just sat through 9 half hour sets of abhorrent breakdowns and painfully choreographed synchronized headbanging/running in place. Basically, Scream The Prayer tour could be renamed MOAR CHINA CRASH tour. The first 7 bands used the same drumset to save on setup time, yet every band had their own China cymbal that they switched out...Oh, and the fat guy from A Plea for Purging is one of the softest things I've ever hugged. Basically, if you plan on going to this tour, here's what to expect (a few digs follow).
1 Agraceful
SUCKS

Most boring performance I've seen in a really long time. They even looked bored with their own music
(which they probably were). Awful.
2 For Today
meh

More chugging but at least they had a few decent sweeps and stuff. Singer was energetic, if a bit
overzealous with his brief pseudo sermons between songs.
3 Gwen Stacey
meh

Chubby bass player was enjoyable, mostly energetic but still kind of meh. Everything sort of ran together.
4 Oh Sleeper
great

Energetic, engaging, mostly on point with the techy bits, nice guys.
5 A Plea for Purging
eh...

Decent performance, pretty goofy, fat guy is still the best thing about them by far.
6 Project 86
umm...

Boring music, and apparently they have an invisible guitar player since another guitar would be playing
when their only guitarist quit (suspicious). Pretty full of themselves, tried to start a circle pit on
multiple
occasions when they clearly do not wield the authority.
7 Sleeping Giant
ugh...

Christian Emmure? Basically. 45 minute set, 4 songs. The rest of the 25 minutes was filled with overly
long sermons from the lead singer. It even made ME feel uncomfortable and I'm a Christian.
8Rush
Moving Pictures

This is where the dig list portion begins. (I know I skipped a few bands but that's because they put me
to
sleep and I don't remember them. Also, we left before Haste The Gay played). So anyway, Rush rules.
9Scale the Summit
Carving Desert Canyons

In the words of my friend wearing the A Day to Remember shirt sitting in the backseat, "Ugh
instrumental
music is so boring". Resisted the urge to blast Pelican for the next four hours.
10Pelican
Ephemeral EP

Good segue, eh?
