| Metal Classics
Some sweet metal classics. (their are only 10, so if I missed your favorites, I am sorry.) | 1 | | Black Sabbath Paranoid
Ahh...Ozzy Era Sabbath... If it weren't for the rest of the band, these albums would have sucked horribly thanks to Ozzy. Still, heavily influential on future metal, thus a classic. | 2 | | Judas Priest Screaming For Vengence
In my opinion, Judas Preist's big classic. The band at their height, with godly riffs and solos, and Halford's vocal at it's height, with almost an Operaesqe power. A true metal classic. | 3 | | Iron Maiden Powerslave
Iron Maiden had many classics, but I feel this is their biggest, and best accomplishment. Their riffs were wildy respected and influential, and the rest of the band didn't lag behind at all. Plus, writing a metal song based off a poem isn't an easy thing to do, but if any band could do it, it's Iron Maiden. | 4 | | Slayer Reign In Blood
The beginning of destruction. Kerry King ferocious shredding, and Slayer's incredibly dark and fast environment make this a thrash classic among thrash classics. | 5 | | Children Of Bodom Follow The Reaper
Children Of Bodom's second classic, and their best. The band is hard to define, with a mixture of Malmsteem's creation of Power Metal and In Flames' Melodious Death Metal, along with the inspiriation from classical musicians. Combining those influences right would be a difficult task, but they managed to make it sound bloody brilliant. | 6 | | In Flames The Jester Race
Among the creators of Melodic Death Metal, In Flames would create the classic of classics of the genre, Jester Race, remembered for it's hard, yet strangely catchy take on Death Metal. Never before had something so demonic had been so... orderly. | 7 | | Possessed Seven Churches
One of the very first Death Metal albums. Grueling and Evil, Growling, barking vocalists shout about death over fast, heavy, and gloomy guitars. A death metal classic. | 8 | | Korn Korn
So called "tr00" metallers don't accept Korn as "real" metal. But they were influential to a new type of genre, Nu-Metal. Korn's unique blend of Hip Hop, Metal, Punk and many more would be the influence for many other bands in the future. | 9 | | Guns N' Roses Appetite For Destruction
Glam Metal came onto the scene in the 80s, and it would conquerer all that we knew about metal in the day. Many bands faltered, and would never be seen again. However, Guns N' Roses had a talent among them that kept them alive, that would be their brilliant gutiarist Slash, and he would shape an entire generation of people. | 10 | | Avenged Sevenfold Walking The Fallen
Just kidding. | |
SHOOTME
06.23.08 | Not really in order of time, more of in how much I like the album. | EStreetFan
06.23.08 | I never did care for The Jester Race. Not sure why. I probably wouldn't call GNR metal, but everyone else seems to and if you do, you have to put Appetite on the list. Overall a good list. | Poet
06.23.08 | 4 and 6 are some of the most overrated albums I've heard. In Flames has a lot better albums......Whoracle, Colony, and Clayman are their best. | natey
06.23.08 | Korn may be very influential to Nu-metal, but that's a genre that we all wish never existed, so they should be forgotten | Yazz_Flute
06.23.08 | dude, fuck you 10 actually is pretty awesome.
3-6 rule as well, 9 isn't too bad, 8 kinda sucks, 1,2 and 7 i havent heard. | Hawks
06.23.08 | 1, 5, 7, and 10 are all amazing. 8 sucks ass and I agree that nu metal shouldn't exist. | HideYourDisguise
06.23.08 | I think I prefer "Number of The Beast" to "Powerslave"- but good list all the same. | Ironpriest
06.23.08 | Best guns n roses album. Judas Priest have much better though, try painkiller or sad wings of destiny, even defenders of the faith really. powerslave is possibly the best maiden album and they still rule live. and the only black sabbath album i heard was paranoid
| SCREAM!
06.23.08 | 10 is actually really good
3&5 are awesome too although i would put Number Of The BEast instead | Masochist
06.23.08 | #6 is nice, but I prefer Colony myself... | BallsToTheWall
06.23.08 | 10 sucks, good call. Needs more Bathory, Danzig, more Dark Tranquillity and less In Flames. | willfellmarsy
06.23.08 | 10>>>>>>>>>>5...every song on that album sounds exactly the same...sure they are good at what they do but their is no versatility or variety and their vocalist is God-awful...9 is not very good and u pretty much smell like feces | P13
06.23.08 | I'd love to see some more "my favourite metal" lists | FenderUsa
