Deftones Records Listed.

The order of my favorite albums from the Deftones.
1Deftones
Deftones

There are probably a few more stand-out tracks on some of their other records, but this one just captures a certain mood and feel, which isnt present on their other albums. The record is dark, moody and downright brutal at times, while still maintaining a coherent flow and vibe, which suits the more simple and harder structure and musicianship, these songs are equipped with. Not the most famous of their releases, but definitely a more rewarding and lasting album effort in the end, if given time.
2Deftones
White pony

This is arguably the most famous album by the Deftones. The album has a great dynamic betwenn the songs and also in between certain parts of songs. The album can be described as a soundscape of dreamy and techtured emtions, covered in an inventing hard rock sound, where all the the members of the band contribute equally, in order to give every song justice. The album isnt really that coherent, but it doesnt matter when the songs are this good.
3Deftones
Around the fur

This album is trapped between a nu-metal sound of old and the more experimental side they found on White pony. Songs like, Be quiet and drive, My own summer and Around the fur are sure crowd pleasers to this day and remain some the Deftones most famous songs. The album isnt far removed from the sound and structure found on the self-titled album, but it has a more "nu-metalish" sound and I personal feel that the record is a sign of better things to come.
4Deftones
Saturday night wrist

This album was created while the band experienced turmoil amongst themselves and in their personal lives and it shows. The album has a lot of great ideas, but a lot of them falls short by being a bit uninspired, especially in the way the songs are performed. The album feels like a giant way of porposely getting more experimental in order to remain unique and relevant in the metal/rock world. The record doesnt have the confidence and natural progression of an album like White pony. The record is good, but its not great and seems more like a record made from the idea of what the Deftones should be and sound like at this point in their career, rather than what kind of direction all the members collectively want to go and progress in.
5Deftones
Adrenaline

This is the deftones first album and also the most nu-metal sounding of all their albums and you can definitely tell. The record sounds and feels like it was produced in the nu-metal era and it is hard to distinguish from a lot of other nu-metal record from the mid-nineties. The album doesnt have the more "individual and dynamic" production found on later records, but does a nice job of being an agressive record all the way through and it suits the sound of the nu-metal era, but it leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion.
