But in 1996 TR revolutionized the adventure and 3d platforming genres (people forget it came out the same year as Mario 64). I love the controls because you have to think about every jump you make (calculating distances and what not) with a genuine sense of peril and can't just run around like a maniac where dying will just set you back a minute or two. Plus it has an immersive atmosphere, tons of secrets, and the game was huge. |
