04.03.08 | Muse is awesome. Protest is good. "Fortress" wasn't as "omg" as everyone said it is imo, but it's still good. |
Cuban Pete
04.03.08 | All of them sans 5 and 10 which I haven't heard are great bands. 2 and 6-9 are some of my favorite bands. |
rasputin
04.03.08 | 1. Get Relationship of Command
2. Get Deloused in the Comatorium
3. Deja Entendu is good, as is The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me.
5. Get We are the Romans
6. I didn't really like the Alchemy Index from waht I've heard, but Artist in the Ambulance is solid.
7. Get Absolution, I suppose.
8. Both their albums are decent, I prefer Fortress however.
9. Ok Computer |
StreetlightRock

04.03.08 | For 3, get: The Devil and God are Raging Inside me. And as good singular tracks by them, get- handcuffs, jesus christ, yeah.
For 4, get: Colors. Singular standout tracks- sun of nothing, white walls and antz of the sky.
For 6, get: everything, but you should go for Vheissu. As singular tracks from that get- The earth will shake, stand and feel your worth, for miles and red sky.
For 8, get: Fortress. Singular stand out tracks- Sequoia throne, blood meat, goddess gagged and the divine suicide of k |

04.03.08 | I've got a great fucking idea: instead of making a worthless list, why don't you just go to each artist page of the bands you listed, and pick out whatever is their top rated album?
HOLY SHIT IT'S A BRILLIANT PLAN |
Cuban Pete
04.03.08 | it'll be ok grant |
willfellmarsy
04.03.08 | top-rated isn't always the best starting point
1-Relationship
2-De-Loused
4-Colors
7-Origin of Symmetry
8-Kezia
start with those my man |
jrowa001
04.03.08 | i normally take South's approach when trying to get into a band. the highest rated album may not be the best start but 80% of the time it is the best starter album |
JumpTheF**kUp
04.03.08 | 1. Relationship of Command
2. Deloused in the Comatorium
3. Deja Entendu
4. The Silent Circus
5. We Are The Romans
6. Vheissu
8. Kezia
9. OK Computer
Grant, at least he's asking for recommendations for good music, as opposed to the 90% of other shitty users who make lists like 'BEST BLACKENED FOLK DEATH BATTLE MELODIC GRIND AMBIENT PROGRESSIVE METALCORE ALBUMS EVAR'. |
Thor
04.03.08 | 1. Relationship of Command
2. The Bedlam In Goliath
4. All of their albums
8. Kezia and Fortress
9. The Bends, OK Computer and Kid A |

04.03.08 | tbh I hate "recomend me" lists more than "band battles" lists. |
south_of_heaven 11
04.03.08 | but then again, even those "recomend me" lists are still at least better than anything BallsToTheWall makes. |
Abdar112
04.03.08 | Theres nothing wrong with "Recommend Me" lists Slayer-boy, but yea Radiohead, Muse, Thrice are all my favorite bands so I'd be kinda bias towards them
Thrice - you can try listening to their earlier stuff (Illusion of safety or Artist in the ambulance) if you're not diggin that don't give up on them, listen to Vheissu, cause thats where they really change their sound (for the better, IMO)
Radiohead - i wouldn't bother with the first Cd (Pablo honey) go straight for The Bends and follow them chronologically
Muse - guess it doesn't really matter where you start, its all crazy |
Mendigo
04.03.08 | At the Drive-In: I only have Relationship of Command, but it's mindblowing.
The Mars Volta: I guess Deloused in the Comatorium is their best, though it's not that great either.
Thrice: I only have The Illusion of Safety, but I really like it
Muse: Origin of Symmetry is by far their best, but you could start with anything but Black Holes and Revelations
Protest the Hero: doesn't matter where to start
Radiohead: it depends, I think Amnesiac and Kid A are their best albums but maybe OK Computer is the better place to start. However, I've you've heard one album you still have no idea how the rest will sound, so there's no way around getting all their albums (exception: Pably Honey isn't necessary) if you want to get into them. |
brandtweathers

6. Illusion of Safety and work your way to their latest because it's incredible.
7. Absolution
8. Kezia, as its more catchy, but not as impressive musically as Fortress, so get that too
