Bullitt
09.30.09 | If they are the 2 most overrated, then radiohead is definitely third. |
Prophet178
09.30.09 | BACK IN BLACK WOOOOO!!! THE SONG WITH PARTY EVERY DAY WOOOO!!! |
theacademy
09.30.09 | AC/DC rulz tho, and so does "Strutter" |
Prophet178
09.30.09 | They're good bands, but Radiohead is easily the best out of the three. |
Chewie
09.30.09 | well both bands are kinda fun, but in comparison to all the great music there is in the world, they are so mediocre. |
Bullitt
09.30.09 | ^
Perfect description, but AC/DC is just one of those bands I have history with. |
Phantom
09.30.09 | ac/dc are so annoying |
EverythingEvil2113
09.30.09 | you gotta think broader appeal man. people and more likely to listen to thunderstruck or detroit rock city than 2+2=5. its a sad reality but something we must all accept. |
scotish
09.30.09 | what t-shirt was it? pretty much all of their tees are awesome. |
theacademy
09.30.09 | maybe it was the T shirt, then?
i am also fighting to not go off on one of my usual 'fuck radiohead' retarded rants... |
Chewie
09.30.09 | like me and Linkin Park, but I can still recognize that they're not a good band. |
theacademy
09.30.09 | i think in the grand scheme of things, radiohead gets A LOT of recognition lol, way more fans of radiohead in my age group than fans of AC/DC |
Chewie
09.30.09 | and the shirt I got was an OK Computer era one, with the Radiohead lettering and the message; "Most people gaze neither into the past nor future, they explore neither truth nor lies, they gaze at the television." Although there is no way people could see the quote from how far back they were.
And its much appreciated academy ;D |
theacademy
09.30.09 | also my sister just bought a social distortion T-Shirt at some girls clothing store and asked me if it was from a movie |
Chewie
09.30.09 | lol |
Prophet178
09.30.09 | Even people who don't listen to music have heard Back In Black and Detroit Rock City at one time in their life. The same can't be said for any Radiohead song. It's not surprising in the least that Kiss and AC/DC got more cheers than Radiohead. |
theacademy
09.30.09 | still knowing one or two songs because theyre iconic means next to nothing.
way more young people have radiohead albums on their ipod than an entire kiss or ac/dc album |
theacademy
09.30.09 | just think about it like this, if any of the three bands go on tour, the shows will sell out at exorbitant ticket prices. radiohead's crowd will just be younger.
meanwhile, fall out boy's tours dont sell out... |
Prophet178
09.30.09 | I don't think so. When I was in high school, and still today, none of my friends listened to Radiohead, but everyone knows of Kiss and AC/DC, even if they have never listened to a full album by either of them.
While more people may be listening to Radiohead today, the widespread appeal of Kiss and AC/DC is far greater. |
theacademy
09.30.09 | how many 20 year olds would shell out 60 bucks to see kiss on tour
jeez how many 25 year olds lol |
theacademy
09.30.09 | i actually think i agree with what you last wrote so i dont know if were arguing |
Prophet178
09.30.09 | I get what you're saying, but the little test that the music guys did in Derek's class pretty much proves my point. More people know of Kiss and AC/DC than Radiohead, even if Radiohead is the more popular band today.
Maybe 10 years from now kids will be talking about Karma Police and Creep instead of Back in Black and Detroit Rock City, but the iconic reputation of Kiss and AC/DC is overwhelming. |
theacademy
09.30.09 | yea but remember, when people are talking about "karma police" and "creep" your son will be on sputnik talking about how radiohead is only getting more love because it looks sick on a t-shirt... |
Nagrarok
09.30.09 | AC/DC used to write cool songs even if they sounded the same, KISS is just loud noise without content whatsoever, but Radiohead easily wins as far as artistic value is concerned.
|
AnotherBrick
09.30.09 | i would have to say..
1. ac/dc
2. radiohead
3. kiss
sorry sputnik :) |
Mr_Coffee
09.30.09 | totally agree with you
currently listening 12 |
TricksterGRex
09.30.09 | radiohead have more listeners on last.fm than ac/dc and kiss combined |
demon of surveillance
09.30.09 | acdc (with bon scott) is way better than the other two. kiss sucks but is better than radiohead |
thebhoy
09.30.09 | aren't you from London? What radio station was it? If it was FM 96 then they probably rigged it to justify the ridiculous amount of AC/DC they play... I hate that damn station. |
Chewie
10.01.09 | ya dude, it was Andrea Dunn at the presentation. But it wasn't some conspiracy theory:P. The person that organized the presentation decided to do the t shirt applause thing, FM 96 had nothing to do with it, Andrea was just there to talk. |
Chewie
10.01.09 | and FM96 ain't that bad, although I never listen to it these days. |
IkarugaSoul
10.01.09 | AC/DC is garbage, bogan rock that's been hitting the same predictable notes for decades. |
Douchebag
10.19.09 | "AC/DC is garbage, bogan rock that's been hitting the same predictable notes for decades."
Yeah well at the end of the day If I need cheering up, I would much rather blast AC/DC than radiohead...
Perhaps I am a bogan from Aus but my vote goes to ACDC. The Bends and OK are both classic albums though. |
mareep
10.19.09 | acdc writes the same album over and over again. |
tombits
10.19.09 | i'm from australia and i fucking loath AC/DC. |
Douchebag
10.19.09 | "i'm from australia and i fucking loath AC/DC."
So? Do you want a fucking cookie or something? |
BrandNewBoognish
10.19.09 | Maybe he does. Are you going to give him one? |
mareep
10.19.09 | "So? Do you want a fucking cookie or something?"
im pretty sure he was just individually crapping on your music taste. |
Douchebag
10.19.09 | meh, they aren't everyone's favourite band and they definitley aren't one of my fav's, I just get sick of seeing them bashed all the time here. |
theacademy
10.19.09 | radiohead writes the same 2 albums and then rotates them back and forth |
mareep
10.19.09 | theacademy everyone knows that's not true so yeah |
