An Unimaginative List Title
A few musical experiences of mine |
1 | | Billy Talent Billy Talent
Still fucking rules |
2 | | Nirvana Nevermind
eh, overrated but still cool |
3 | | Deftones Saturday Night Wrist
In love again |
4 | | Alexisonfire Watch Out!
hasn't really clicked yet, I used to like Alexisonfire a lot but now I don't really care much any more |
5 | | Our Lady Peace Clumsy
Pretty fun and great album, Car Crash is sweet. |
6 | | Pearl Jam Ten
rules |
7 | | Mastodon Crack The Skye
This is fucking great, what do any of you know? |
8 | | Portishead Dummy
Not as great as everyone says. I was expecting another Mezzanine or Endtroducing, but the entire thing is pretty simple and underwhelming |
9 | | Okkervil River Black Sheep Boy
My review was really wrong, this is terrific. So Come Back, I Am Waiting is one of the best songs ever. |
10 | | Mono Hymn To The Immortal Wind
repetitive as fuck, but pretty epic none the less. |
11 | | The Mars Volta De-Loused In The Comatorium
It takes probably five listens just to digest what I'm hearing when it comes to The Mars Volta, but the pay off is almost always worth it. This is a bit over-rated, but that doesn't mean it isn't really good. |
12 | | Propagandhi Supporting Caste
Since I've never really listened to punk I didn't give this too much of a chance, but its growing. |
13 | | Slayer Reign In Blood
Dipping my toes into more metal, I guess this is the best place to start. |
14 | | Opeth Blackwater Park
Continuing on from the previous entry, this really does live up to all the claim it gets and is fucking incredible. |
15 | | Arcade Fire Funeral
its weird, I was in love with this album when I bought like 2 years ago, and then I lost the cd, and my library fucked up, so I went 2 years without hearing it. Now that I've listened to it again, I don't really like it any more. |
16 | | The Flaming Lips Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
this is super good, trippy but not too trippy, a perfect balance of craziness and legitimate songwriting. |
17 | | Beck Odelay!
probably the funnest album ever |
18 | | Ween The Mollusk
probably the funniest album ever |
19 | | The Mars Volta Octahedron
"oh look we made an 'acoustic' album, which really just means we didn't try all that hard at making good songs." |
20 | | Sigur Ros ( )
not nearly as good as everyone says, but relaxing I suppose, and I will admit Untitled 3 is really awesome. |
21 | | Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago
Beeeeutiful |
22 | | Tomita Snowflakes Are Dancing
WHY WON'T IT LET ME ADD THIS TO THE DATABASE |
23 | | Talking Heads Remain In Light
Really cool. |
24 | | Mr Bungle California
really amusing and great. Whether or not I like it more then Faith No More remains to be seen, but its certainly giving it a run for its money |
25 | | Peeping Tom Peeping Tom
This was another side project from Mike Patton, and its pretty fun. He is just as wacky as usual, but its not the cat's pajamas, but still nice |
26 | | Joy Division Closer
I read Electric City's review, had to get it. Its taking a while to appreciate it, but it certainly is pretty cool. |
27 | | Death Human
Some good fucking m3tahl |
28 | | The Chemical Brothers Dig Your Own Hole
I really recommend this group. They have a pretty acid-hop sound and write really consistent and groovy stuff. This is one of the best electronica of the 00s. |
29 | | Bjork Homogenic
Song very, um, "organic" stuff. She can sing really well and the eletronica/classical instrumentation works really well. |
30 | | Sonic Youth Daydream Nation
I bought their album Goo a while back and kinda hated it, but thankfully I gave them another chance and got this, and thank god I did. Slowly but surely I realized how brilliant these guys are, and how the songs have a lot of staying power. Definitely one of my favorite bands now. |
