New Discoveries

Artists I've just found out about, or just started listening to. Now I'm hooked!
1Great Big Sea

I found these guys while looking for Bobby Bare's "The Mermaid Song" (of which they do an excellent cover). They have a strong Irish folk vibe coupled with a few punk moments and great lyric writing. Check out "The Night Pat Murphy Died".
2Wyclef Jean

I've always respected him as a musician considering he writes all his own music (hard to find in the pop world) and he maintains an excellent balance of hip hop vibes with an acoustic feel. He also plays his own guitar (near impossible to find in the hip hop world). Check out The Carnival.
3Lordi

You can't go wrong with "Hard Rock Hallelujah". I can only classify this as fun metal.
4The Allman Brothers

I've always known about these guys, but I've only heard the singles until as of late. The instrumentation really holds its own and I dig that. Check out "No One To Run With".
5Feist

Oddly enough, the first time I heard her music was in an iPod commercial. I checked into it and found some of the most relaxing and soothing pop melodies I could ever care to hear. She has such a real voice...check out "So Sorry". Scratch that...buy the whole album.
