Many good albums this year, but not so many which blew my mind. Maybe next year. | 1 | | Amplifier Hologram
Their best record overall since Echo Street maybe, can't wait for Gargantuan. | 2 | | Caroline Polachek Desire, I Want To Turn Into You
Biggest surprise, this grew on me a lot. | 3 | | Depeche Mode Memento Mori | 4 | | Yawning Man Long Walk of the Navajo
Torrid summer jam. | 5 | | Acid Arab Trois
Banger. | 6 | | Oxbow Love's Holiday | 7 | | Katatonia Sky Void of Stars | 8 | | Protomartyr Formal Growth in the Desert | 9 | | Follakzoid V
Found myself listening to this more than I thought. Seeing them live in what was probably their most intimate gig lately and chit chatting with Domingae made for a special memory lol. | 10 | | MxPx Find A Way Home
How the hell didn't I listen to these guys until now, I don't know. Great record, forget about Blink-182's latest. | 11 | | Queens of the Stone Age In Times New Roman...
Tight album, half of it is awesome. | 12 | | Filter The Algorithm
Weird production choices aside, it's a really good LP. | 13 | | The Flower Kings Look At You Now | 14 | | Gozu Remedy
Gozu still slays. | 15 | | The National Laugh Track
Some excellent moments on this one. | 16 | | Fennesz/Ozmotic Senzatempo | 17 | | LE SSERAFIM UNFORGIVEN
Did a much better job with the album than IVE. | 18 | | Carbon Based Lifeforms Seeker | 19 | | Rotor (GER) 7
Rotor remains a constant feature with another great record. | 20 | | Beastwars Tyranny Of Distance | 21 | | Swans The Beggar
Too long and linear, but when it clicks it's awesome. | 22 | | Mondo Drag Through The Hourglass | 23 | | Tim Hecker No Highs | 24 | | Therapy? Hard Cold Fire | 25 | | HEALTH RAT WARS
I like it, it's a cool experiment they had to do at some point. | 26 | | Ozric Tentacles Lotus Unfolding | 27 | | Kimbra A Reckoning | 28 | | The National First Two Pages of Frankenstein
A few awesome tracks amid your usual middle aged corporate dad sob. | 29 | | William Basinski The Clocktower at the Beach (1979) | 30 | | Jessie Ware That! Feels Good! | 31 | | Zhaoze No Answer Blowin' in the Wind | 32 | | Bell Witch Future's Shadow I: The Clandestine Gate | 33 | | Anohni and the Johnsons My Back Was a Bridge for You to Cross | 34 | | Foo Fighters But Here We Are | 35 | | REZN Solace | 36 | | Blur The Ballad of Darren | 37 | | Wilco Cousin | 38 | | Acid King Beyond Vision | 39 | | VV (FIN) Neon Noir
A slow grower for me. | 40 | | Great Falls Objects Without Pain | 41 | | Tuber Joyful Science | 42 | | Slowdive Everything is Alive | 43 | | Purelink Signs | 44 | | Gorillaz Cracker Island | 45 | | Laibach Sketches of the Red Districts | 46 | | Ryuichi Sakamoto 12 | 47 | | Big|Brave nature morte | 48 | | KEN mode Void | 49 | | Jason Isbell Weathervanes | 50 | | Xiu Xiu Ignore Grief | 51 | | Sleaford Mods UK Grim | 52 | | Host IX | 53 | | Mondo Generator We Stand Against You | 54 | | The Ocean Holocene
This didn't really click, but it's a nice listen. Maybe it will click at some point. | 55 | | Red Velvet Chill Kill | 56 | | fromis_9 Unlock My World | 57 | | Motorpsycho Yay! | 58 | | Steven Wilson The Harmony Codex
Should be higher I guess, but I didn't really have the patience for it so far, there were other records I enjoyed more since it was released. | 59 | | Domkraft Sonic Moons | 60 | | Bongzilla Dab City
Too long, but played it frequently as background music while playing on my PC. | 61 | | Baxter Dury I Thought I Was Better Than You | 62 | | Delerium Signs | 63 | | Moby Ambient 23 | |

12.16.23 | Your rec of Acid Arab on Sowing's 2023 Q1 playlist was golden. I hope that stuff evolves into a whole genre | Ladron93
12.17.23 | Yes. ^^
Caroline Polachek, Carbon Based Lifeforms, HEALTH, Jessie Ware, slowdive have been my liking of this year.
Katatonia, Filter, Tim Hecker, Kimbra, William Basinski, Gorillaz, Steven Wilson, Queens of the Stone Age albums were okay.
RIP Ryuichi Sakamoto. 8/
I'll give some of the albums you listed, insomniac. I'm sure not the majority of the bands can be my thing.

12.17.23 | @kildare - haha, I laughed when I saw it was placed first on the Q1, quite unrepresentative of the rest of the list. If you find any other stuff like Acid Arab, please let me know, I'm curious to hear.
@ladtron - listen to Host's album or Ozric Tentacles if you haven't already, maybe you'll dig them. | kildare
12.17.23 | I'm watch'n | Ladron93
12.18.23 | @ismoniac15 Oh, I think I heard of Lotus Unfolding in October. It's just keeping up with other people's lengthy list is hard to process all of them. xP
That album is not bad. It gave me 90s vibe in a weird way, or I might be talking outta my ass.
Host's IX? Will do. ^^ |
