Red Hot Chili Peppers: Best To Worst

The Peppers used to be my favorite band, so let's take some time to look back at good records and bad records by the Peppers.
1Red Hot Chili Peppers
Mothers Milk

Red Hot Chili Peppers used to be a really fun band with heavy funk influences, fun lyrics, great rhythms, moving basslines, and dance-floor accessible vocals, and shows this with Mothers Milk. This album was just unbelieveably fun, and is one of my favorite albums ever.
2Red Hot Chili Peppers
Californication

After the break-up and reunion, the Peppers proved they were still a mainstay in rock music with Californication. More fun than One Hot Minute, not as experimental, just more fun and a wonderfully varied and excellent listen all the way through.
3Red Hot Chili Peppers
By The Way

Maturity struck the Peppers here, and it proved successful in a departure for their sound...much more deep, heavy, directed, and simply more rounded and perfected than any other Peppers record, but the biggest problem here was the Peppers playful mentality was lost, and even though it's fun and good, there's a key ingredient missing.
4Red Hot Chili Peppers
BloodSugarSexMagik

Their breakout album was a classic, but it aged miserably, and many other Peppers albums began to outshine it...much more mainstream accessible, still fun and wild, just too refined and restrictive. There's still some excellent listens on here though.
5Red Hot Chili Peppers
Freaky Styley

This album had a few good tracks, but only would shadow to what would come with Mother's Milk...an average album all around with some good tracks, bad tracks, and mediocrity.
6Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Uplift Mofo Party Plan

The funkiest Peppers album was a good record, but definitely was a bit too immature and at times irritating and repetitive. Once again, a few good tracks, but a mediocre album.
7Red Hot Chili Peppers
One Hot Minute

Their most experimental album attempted to return to form while incorporating new elements and fell flat on it's face. A bit too wild, out there, and different made this album a chore to listen to an definitely made the album feel like some cheesy knock-off cover band of the Peppers.
8Red Hot Chili Peppers
Stadium Arcadium

Despite being praised critically, Stadium Arcadium is a boring record lacking originality, the spark that made them a hit, any showmanship, fun, originality, and an overall overtaking of mainstream sound on their funk-rock.
9Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Red Hot Chili Peppers

Poor. Immature. Mediocre. Bland. Completely moronic.
