| 10 Best Produced Albums of Any Genre
This is kind of an amalgam of my musical tastes. Well, here it is, in my opinion, of course. Comment with your suggestions, I love feedback! As you can probably tell, I'm a big fan of Matt Bayles, who produces Isis, Minus the Bear, and Mastodon. He makes his production fit the band he is working, i.e. large and epic for Isis, clean and clear for Minus the Bear, and deep and mudd for Mastodon. Matt is amazing. Just wanted to point that out! | 1 | | Isis Panopticon | 2 | | Tool Lateralus | 3 | | King Crimson Lizard | 4 | | Minus the Bear Menos El Oso | 5 | | Morbid Angel Covenant | 6 | | Rage Against the Machine Rage Against the Machine | 7 | | Mastodon Leviathan | 8 | | Opeth Ghost Reveries | 9 | | Metallica Master of Puppets | 10 | | Dredg El Cielo | |

10.11.06 | Talk Talks Laughing Stock needs to be on the list but I'm not sure if you've heard it or not. | spoon_of_grimbo
10.11.06 | although a great album, Leviathan has a bit of a muddy mix, too bassy for my liking, the guitars weren't quite biting enough. otherwise, id agree with MoP, RATM, and opeth, but i cant comment on the others as iv only heard the odd clip. | Kage
10.11.06 | Great list. Except for Metallica. Come on, you're better than that. ;) | C20H25N3O
10.11.06 | The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready To Die
Nas - ILLmatic
Daft Punk - Discovery
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral | Rocksta71
10.11.06 | I love Crimson but not this album. | metallicaman8
10.11.06 | Master Of Puppets is THE greatest album ever, IMO. But even I know the production sucks. | ToWhatEnd
10.11.06 | Eh I think MoP's production was perfect for the way the album sounded. | metallicaman8
10.11.06 | Indeed it did, but it was still bad production. Even if did suite the albums rough, angsty style. | ktstein
10.12.06 | Panopticon and Leviathan are great albums (as said above), but the production value isnt quite there. The vocals on Isis are turned down way too low, and the bass on Mastodon guitars have a little too much fuzz. But maybe low production value adds to the overall album experience of these two. I dunno... |
