russian circles are way overrated
I love Enter, but Stations wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be, especially with Brian Cook on bass. It took me awhile to get into their style because they combine both sides of the instrumental music spectrum. I've always thought they had the best parts of Pelican, Don Caballero and Explosions in the Sky. Give Enter a few more listens. If you like instrumental music, I guarantee it will grow on you, unless it's just not your style of music, of course :)
You picked Pelican's worst album, haha.
kinda surprised there's no Satriani or Jason Becker or anything
good enough list
Enter is an awesome album
8, 9, and 10 look interesting
all of those albums are great, especially 9
Needs more Tera Melos and Rodrigo y Gabriela.
Props for Skullgrid, though.
6 is so fucking amazing.
3 is great as well and I do really need 9
listen to what masscows said and get some Mahavishnu Orchestra.
and maybe some essential jazz like mingus, coltrane, davis.
yeah shout out the pelican. sweet.
You should check out the new Electro Quarterstaff demos on their MySpace if you haven't yet. They got a bassist and it really adds a lot to their sound.
3 & 7 is pretty amazing & 6 is one of my favorite albums of all time.
Listen to ( ) by Sigur Ros, there is some singing but they dont use lyrics & just consider the singing another instrument
& check out the band Mono, specifically their album You Are There which is very much liked on this site.
