Murder Falcon

Cannot recommend this book highly enough. If you'd told me a comic series centered around an anthropomorphic bandana-wearing bird and kaiju monsters summoned by heavy metal would have me weeping at the end of the majority of its issues, I more than likely would've made some joke about Mad Libs or magnetic poetry. But here we are. Proceed at your own peril, and have the hankies ready, dear readers. List is my on-deck vinyl for the weekend, which is, admittedly, a bit short on metal.
1Snail Mail
Habit

Gave this a spin recently, definitely maintains the quality on display on Lush. If anything, being an EP, it actually under-stays its welcome a bit, so definitely gonna give it another whirl.
2The National
I Am Easy to Find

Have shamefully had this in plastic for a couple of weeks now, firmly intend to break the seal and commence the moping.
3Baroness
Gold and Grey

Finally, some genuine METAL in the mix. Also finally, snagged this record (which I had preordered) earlier in the week, after catching the band perform (most of) an acoustic set a couple weekends back. That was awesome, and rumor seems to have it that, some questionable production choices aside, the music itself here will live up.
4Cave In
Live At Roadburn 2018

Haven't managed to track down Final Transmission yet, but grabbed this around the same time I got Baroness, so in for what I'm sure will be a super-fun, not at all harrowing and depressing listen.
5Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties
Routine Maintenance

Just, y'know, keeping that happy-go-lucky streak going here.
6Spanish Love Songs
Losers

Ditto, but hey, at least it's up-tempo.
7Crown the Empire
Retrograde

CURVEBALL! So, I actually got this album for free for some reason, and have virtually no familiarity with this band aside from being aware of their name. Based on what I've seen around, not terribly optimistic, but figure it's worth a listen or two in order to decide for myself.
8Mastodon
Emperor of Sand

As an antidote to the potential headache #7 may induce, getting back to a record guaranteed to please. Honestly, I haven't listened to this one nearly as much as I should, which was put into perspective when I saw them with Coheed a few weeks back and couldn't remember they'd done an album after Once More 'Round the Sun. Again, shame on me, but high time for a revisit.
9Coheed and Cambria
From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness

Ditto, although this is one I honestly probably break out on a nearly monthly basis. Sidebar: They really need to (re?)press No World for Tomorrow to vinyl, as well.
