My Krampus List

Fairly self-explanatory. Feel free to share ye own.
1Childish Gambino
"Awaken, My Love!"

I was pretty shocked when I saw this announced, if only because I assumed Glover was so busy being brilliant in Atlanta (another thing I need to check out). What I've heard has sounded pretty, prettay sweet.
2Enemies
Valuables

Bittersweet one for sure, in that I didn't know until just recently that this was going to be their last release. Still, by all accounts, it's one hell of a swansong.
3The Weeknd
Starboy

The single is catchy for sure, although honestly, I feel like it wasn't the balls-out masterpiece of synergy I expected a Weeknd/Daft Punk collabo to produce. Still, even though it seems like this is one that sure to be quantity over quality, I'm sure there'll be at least a solid half-album's worth of hooky tracks to be found here.
4Old Gray
Slow Burn

I've been digging these guys for a while now, and glad to finally see them getting a greater groundswell of support. Fun fact: I honestly had no idea of the connection to Sorority Noise, who had one of the best albums of last year.
5John Legend
Darkness and Light

Just some straight-up ear sex right here (I imagine).
6Johann Johannsson
Arrival

An expertly understated score on an absolutely gorgeous film. If you're a fan of sci-fi, and Denis Villenueve specifically (who's one of the best directors out there, in my opinion), do yourself and favor and check this one out. And bring your hankies.
7Francis and the Lights
Farewell, Starlite!

Not sure if this is slated for any sort of physical release or not, but I definitely enjoyed "Friends" when it premiered a few months ago, and could certainly get down to a feature-length extrapolation of that sound.
8DJ Shadow
Endtroducing...

It's become almost cliche by this point, but cliches are true, so there you go...excited about the triple-disc special edition, nevermind the fact that it's a triple dip (and the third time I'll have bought this album).
