The Best Of Everclear
Everclear was a pretty popular alt rock group from the 90's. They made six albums before basically breaking up, and then reformed with new members (not counting Art Alexakis) and made a new album. I really like their music and in my opinion these are the best songs they ever made. |
1 | | Everclear Queen Of The Air
To make a long story short, a 3 year old watches his mom commit suicide. He grows up believing it was his aunt and that his step mom is his real mom. He is constantly haunted by the nightmares of it until one day he learns the truth. Plus there's pretty sweet instrumental section at the end. |
2 | | Everclear Here We Go Again
I really like the pissy lyrics in this song. The chorus is the kind that you want to shout out loud, and each time they sing it it gets a lot louder, chock full with a ton of trombones and trumpets. This song never gets old. |
3 | | Everclear Halloween Americana
This is probably the best instrumental rock song I've ever heard. The simple guitar riff is very catchy. Art's solo is pretty awesome too. |
4 | | Everclear Strawberry
The simple guitar playing and folky lyrics make this song the kind that you like exponentially more each time you hear it. |
5 | | Everclear White Noise
Once you get through the first minute of silence the song pretty much explodes. The lyrics really hit home with me, and I think they're among the best he's ever written. Greg Eklund's drumming is unbelievable; the whole song is basically a drum solo. |
6 | | Everclear Normal Like You
This is a pretty catchy song, with some amazing lyrics dealing with people with depression. |
7 | | Everclear Fire Maple Song
The folky lyrics and guitar lines are sweet. I can't help but yell out "I can't smile!" while listening. |
8 | | Everclear Summerland
I like the guitar playing here, but the lyrics are what set it apart. Art Alexakis deals with teenage angst pretty damn well. |
9 | | Everclear One Hit Wonder
Gotta love anti-music industry songs. The use of horns here is great. The chorus is uber-catchy and gets better each time he sings it. |
10 | | Everclear Like A California King
The lyrics about knocking down a person with too big of an ego are really sweet. The guitar/violin riff is awesome too. |
11 | | Everclear Now That It's Over
The ultimate breakup song. Politely go fuck yourself. |
12 | | Everclear Wonderful
The divorce lyrics are really well written. The part where the song gets really heavy and he starts singing about how he hates everything is cool too. This can really do a number to my emotions. |
13 | | Everclear Everything To Everyone
These lyrics are all too understandable, as we all know someone like the character in this song. "I think you're blind to the fact that the hand you hold is the hand that holds you down." |
14 | | Everclear Overwhelming
Similar to Like A California King, this song has really awesome songwriting. I cannot believe he could come up with lyrics this good. |
15 | | Everclear Science Fiction
I love the emotion and overall spookiness in this song. |
16 | | Everclear Father Of Mine
Has anyone ever written a more personal song? |
17 | | Everclear Learning How To Smile
Aww, what a feel good song. |
18 | | Everclear Heroin Girl
I find myself sitting in school singing this in my head all the time. Just another overdose! |
19 | | Everclear My Sexual Life
I love the catchy guitars that dominate this song. The way Art Alexakis shouts is great also. |
20 | | Everclear Nehalem
Could there be a more lovable song? I heard you're leaving me, I heard you're leaving Nehalem... |
21 | | Everclear New Blue Champion
This song's chorus is so heavy it's almost violent. Just go away... |
22 | | Everclear El Distorto De Melodica
Everclear experimenting with metal is a good thing. Not much to say about this song ecxept if you know it you love it. |
23 | | Everclear Portland Rain
Dark, creepy lyrics about.....SEX! |
24 | | Everclear When It All Goes Wrong Again
Right off the bat this song is really fun and catchy. |
25 | | Everclear Santa Monica
We Could Live Beside The Ocean, Leave the fire behind, swim out past the breaker, watch the world die. Good song and such. |
