I'd recommend Cafe Tacuba or Molotov too, but they're too fast for what you want, and full of mexican slang (they're great though)
or if you want some really slow latin shit like salsas or baladas check Hector Lavoe, Ruben Blades, Juan Luis Guerra, Laura Pausini, Alejandro Sanz (i don't dig those last two but you might find it useful idk) |

02.19.13 | Buena suerte, because you're never going to learn by listening to music. Watch subtitled movies instead. |
Capablanca
02.19.13 | Or he could do both and learn faster. |

02.19.13 | Well with movies you can read the English translation and actually hear how people talk. Spanish lyrics are kind of notorious (at least according the some Colombians I know) for eliminating syllables and prepositions so it doesn't really give you a good idea of how the language actually works.
Also, I can't believe you think writing is easier than listening. I fucking suck at writing it but I can understand just about everything I hear. |

02.20.13 | I'm latin and I don't even like music in spanish, I feel a bit of shame. |

03.05.13 | Juanes consistently releases excellent albums, and I highly recommend him. His album on which his lyrics are most understandable (& slow) is his most recent: 2010's P.A.R.C.E., although admittedly it's not his best.
For me, listening to music is a *great* way to learn Spanish. The lyrics really stick in my head and it's a fantastic way to learn irregular verb forms.
Some Spanish bands, however, I find difficult to understand. The ever-popular La Oreja de Van Gogh has some good melodies, but the lead singer's accent is very difficult for me to comprehend... |

03.11.13 | Check out Zoe and Plastiko
