12.07.12 | Tom Green - Is he acting? Or did he ingest too much brake fluid as a child? No-one knows, but seeing as his Freddy got Fingered film is constantly voted by top critics as the worst film of all time, I think that deserves some recognition.
Sean Connery - Come on, the best Bond by miles, even though Daniel Craig is coming up close. A couple more films and he may overtake dear old Sean.
Johnny Depp - From Heartthrob to Las vegas drug fiend, to swashbuckler to Tim Burton's sex parsnip, Mr. Depp has had so many roles he's forgotten who he is.
Samuel L Jackson - Fuck Morgan Freeman, Jackson is the coolest black guy by 10 inches!!
Al Pacino - If you need a villain, Al's your guy. Just don't leave him alone with your coke and chainsaw.
Arnold - The voice that changed the world of impressions as we know it. Former Mr. steroid, pothead and all around great guy, Arnold is the ultimate man's man.
Jim Carrey - ADHD can be used for performing arts? Many would have said poppycock but Mr. Carrey used it for great comedic effect. And he's a fan of Napalm death!
Anthony Hopkins - I had to include a Welshman on the list, and along with East Clintwood, this guy is one of the oldest legendary actors left. Funny how when you think that one of the oldest living legend singers (Tom Jones) is also Welsh. Bow down to your kings.
Robert De Nero - One of the hardest, grittiest, jewishest, mole-faced gangstas you'd hate to cross paths with. Well he certainly came across that way on screen.
Sacha Baron Cohen - To do what this guy does (troll the public) in so many different ways/characters and not even crack a smile? Best actor ever. |

12.07.12 | Tom Hanks (The Green Mile, watching this film now is going to be even harder for me after a recent
tragedy, but I still find this to be a beautiful movie, even better than the director's previous
Shawshank Redemption IMO, and Tom Hanks is just wonderful and very real in his role as a prison
guard)
Harrison Ford (Frantic, this film isn't one of my all-time favourites, but it's a solid movie and it
gives Ford a chance to deliver his best performance ever as a man who's trying to save his kidnapped
wife)
Jack Nicholson (Chinatown, probably the best screenplay ever written, so many things to pick up on
with your second or third viewing, this is a complex, thought-provoking movie that may even leave
you terrified by the end, which it sure did for me)
Al Pacino and Robert De Niro (Heat, every actor is great in this movie, but Pacino and De Niro are
top-notch throughout and they give the best performance of both their careers in the memorable cafe
scene where they have a nice "cop-to-criminal" conversation, it is classic)
Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood, gets better every time I see it)
Michael Shannon (Take Shelter, probably the best film I've ever seen, every actor/actress is
phenomenal, including Jessica Chastain)
Michael Fassbender (Hunger and Shame are equally excellent films, but Hunger is a masterpiece for
having a fantastic scene involving Fassbender's real-life character talking to a priest for about 10
or 15 minutes, it's amazing acting)
Andrew Garfield (even though I hated him as Spider-Man, Boy A and The Social Network are two
masterpieces and he has my respect for those alone) |

12.07.12 | Needs moar DeNiro. |

12.07.12 | De Niro
The man's classic films are as long as a black guys penis. Goodfellas and Taxi Driver are near-flawless and Raging Bull isn't far behind, neither is Heat or the Godfather 2, simply the best actor of all time, even if he's been in a couple of stinkers recently
Clint Eastwood
Popularised the western as the 'Man with No Name' in Sergio Leone's trilogy in which all 3 are masterpieces. He defines manliness and continues his legacy as a brilliant director (Mystic River and Gran Torino) come to mind as some of his best and I haven't even mentioned Unforgiven either. A legend
Brad Pitt
An amazingly consistent actor whose star power can change a film. I enjoyed Mr & Mrs Smith because of his and Jolie's chemistry. Also Inglourious Basterds, Fight Club (a little overrated but still enjoyable), Seven (one of the best cop thrillers I've seen) and the Assassination of Jesse James are all brilliant films
Tom Hanks
As thejon93rd mentioned. The Green Mile is brilliant and emotionally draining all the way through with a brilliantly human performance from Hanks. He also provides the voice expertly for the Toy Story trilogy, one of the best film trilogies in my opinion
Jack Nicholson
Chinatown has already been mentioned as one of the best screenplays and performances by an actor. Also deserves a mention for The Shining, his performance alone elevated the film beyond the book in my opinion and obviously One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest too.
Al Pacino
The Godfather is one of the greatest films I've ever seen. End of discussion. Not even mentioning Scarface and Heat in which he and De Niro could probably have switched roles and the film would still have been just as amazing. I also love Dog Day Afternoon, providing one of the best performances I've seen in a truly brilliant movie.
