Jrowa Is Here To Serve You

heres some albums that i think i worth checking out. despite what a certain user says about me only listening to these albums once and forgetting all about them...i have given all these numerous listens over the past 4 or 5 months. some more than others obviously. but yeah check some of these out if they look pleasing. love you
1Amarna Reign
Atonement

a pretty good metalcore band that adds some atmosphere to their sound. maybe a guilty pleasure of mine
2Anubis Gate
The Detached

the often forgotten Anubis Gate released a solid prog metal album this year and it's as good as their other albums.
3Aranis
Aranis II

Aranis are an avant-garde classical group and this album is beautifully done. for fans of Art Zoyd or anything different
4Astra
The Weirding

prog rock. very talented band
5Atrox
Orgasm

this female fronted gothic metal band is different from many other gothic metal bands. they infuse technical death, avant-garde, jazz, and a few other genres, but still surrounding it with a gothic atmosphere. vocals are very good
6Bob Katsionis
NOEMON

the keyboardist from Firewind came out with a solo album last year and it rocks. more on the prog side than the power metal side of his band Firewind. if you love keyboard than this is for you
7Busdriver
Jhelli Beam

one of my fav hip-hop releases of the year. Busdriver again shows off his unique flow and lyrical skills.
8David Bowie
Station To Station

it took me a while to get into Bowie but after i gave Ziggy Stardust a listen i was hooked. later i got this album and a few others and i must say that StS is a beautiful album. dont be a bitch and listen to some Bowie
9Defect Designer
Wax

a tech metal band that is extremely skilled musicians. the vocals are hit and miss but they dont ruin the music. they have some songwriting issues they can develop but overall this was a real surprise
10 Diablo Swing Orchestra
Sing-Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious

just got this and im very pleased. better than their debut and just a real joy to listen to
11Ensiferum
From Afar

ive never been a big fan of their first last albums. i thought they were boring, but this one is by far their best and is one of the best folk metal albums to come out in some time
12Eventide
Diaries From the Gallows

a solid melodic death metal band
13The Fifth Sun
The Hunger To Survive

same as above
14Foetus
Thaw

it seems Meatplow is the only one who really likes this guy as he introduced me to him and i was hooked. industrial noise/post-punk
15 Gecko's Tear
Contradiction

a jazzy prog rock band
16GPS
Window To the Soul

a nice melodic prog rock album.
17Hidria Spacefolk
Symbiosis

psychedelic rock. an interesting album
18The Hope Conspiracy
True Nihilist

their new EP and it's a good one. for fans of good hardcore
19Hourglass
Oblivious to the Obvious

a two-disc prog metal album that is a little over 2 hours long. it is a long listen but there are many things to like
20Indukti
Idmen

their new album. prog rock
21Integrity
Seasons In The Size Of Days

one of the best hardcore albums of the mid-late nineties. raw and aggressive
22IQ
Frequency

neo-prog. if you liked Dark Matter than this one wont disappoint
23 Jesse Sykes
Like, Love, Lust & the Open Halls of the Soul

Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter are one of the best folk/alt. country groups around. Sykes voice is gorgeous and she makes you feel good. a very pleasant listen
24The Jezabels
The Man Is Dead EP

they are an up-and-coming indie pop group. the female vocals arent too poppy which to me is a good thing
25Junius
The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist

finally Junius came out with a new album. this post-metal band continues doing what they did best on their debut and that's create an atmospheric heavy album with waving vocals
26Kongh
Shadows of the Shapeless

not as strong as their debut but it still crushes your brain. sludge metal with a bit of a doom influence.
27 Le Mepris
Le Mepris

stupid sputnik wont let put the accent on the 'e'. oh well. Le Mepris is the moniker for a female japanese classical musician. beautiful music led mostly by piano
28Madder Mortem
Eight Ways

balls doesnt like this too much so hes gay. :)
29Marsen Jules
Herbstlaub

ambient modern classical music. put this on when youre sleeping or you need to think
30Masachist
Death March Fury

death metal. very good death metal
31Matmos
The Rose Has Teeth In The Mouth Of A Beast

electronic/glitch.
32Mokira
Persona

electronic/ambient
33Nemesea
Mana

an underrated symphonic metal band. the female vocals on this are superb and it should be ranked up their with Tristania, Nightwish and the like
34No Consequence
In the Shadow of Gods

tech metalcore that doesnt suck or is bothered by endless amounts of sweeps. talented band with good vocals
35Nya Ljudbolaget
Nya Ljudbolaget

a rare album that came out in 1981 made up of musicians from various folk groups. a very very very good album
36Raised Fist
Veil of Ignorance

fast/aggressive/energetic hardcore with great vocals.
37Rio En Medio
The Bride of Dynamite

psychedelic folk with soothing female vocals.
38Rose Kemp
Unholy Majesty

Kemp's most recent album shows her love for 70's psychedelic rock and even her love from some traditional doom. her vocals are the standout and damn they are good. get her previous album as well as it shows a more intimate side of Kemp
39Satellite
Nostalgia

this neo-prog rock group comes out with their most pop album. some may not like it as much as their earlier albums but i think its their best. vocals have improved and its not as cheesy
40Sickening Horror
The Dead End Experiment

tech death metal with a dark atmosphere.
41 The Soft Machine
The Soft Machine

album art wont work but no biggie. this 1968 jazz/prog/psych/folk album was a very important album of it's time.
42Souljourners
Mind Control

excellent prog rock/metal from Temecula, California (not far from me). one of my best friend's younger brother just joined them as their new drummer and even though the drums on this are superb, their new drummer is even better (and only 20 years old). check it out!
43Spheric Universe Experience
Unreal

not as good as Anima but they continue with their prog/power blend of metal.
44Twisted Into Form
Then Comes Affliction To Awaken the Dreamer

a Cynic-esque tech metal band. not a ripoff like that shit band Obscura
45Vader
Necropolis

the newest Vader is an evil slab of death metal. they just keep coming out with impressive albums
46Veda
The Weight Of An Empty Room

alt rock with some of the heartwarming female vocals ive ever heard. she will not only move you emotionally but also physically. one moment youll be standing quietly in your room then you press play and youll be knocked down on your ass. they may go as Vedera now but either way they rule
47Vengeful
The Omnipresent Curse

by far one of the best death metal albums of the year. their sophomore album is not one to be unnoticed. these canadians really shocked me on how good this album is. its technical, but not over the top. it has evil riffs and crushing vocals. the album ends with the epic 21 minute song Transcending
48Wobbler
Afterglow

prog rock that sounds like it belongs with bands like Gentle Giant in the 70's.
49Xerath
Xerath I

good stuff. vocals are ok, but the symphonic addition to the death metal music is a nice tough.
50 Zion I
True &Livin'

one of the best duo's in hip-hop. there's no gangta shit here, this is pure hip-hop with a brain
