To me, this is perfect music. Daniel Gildenlow is undeniably one of todays greatest vocalists as demonstrated so perfectly on this album through the intense emotional climaxes. Pain Of Salvation are like Dream Theater who actually know how to write songs and put their technicality to good measure. Words don't seem to justify just how perfect this album really is. |

I know I'm another Tool fan boy, but all the hype surrounding this album i believe is truly justified. This album is hypnotizing: the rhythms draw you in and don't and seem to be the soul of the music. No other band manages to captivate me to such a degree on purely a rhythmic level, but also on top of this are the grating yet beautiful vocals of Maynard James Keenan who's voice blends perfectly with the music. |

Trent Reznor's abrasive brash style would normally be something off putting for me but yet one thing makes Nine Inch Nail's click with me: the sincerity behind it all. Reznor has been through some tough things in his life and I truly believe that this is best executed through this monstrous double disc. Ranging from truly tranquil to sheer bluntness, this album is magnificent. |

This album is some sort of divine incarnate of the word beauty. The way the songs just build up so gradually until they release their destructive boom is so moving and powerful. Backed up by spoken word passages and a large arsenal of instruments Godpseed released a stunner here. |

Here we have Opeth's best album. I can't think of any other album that provides such overwhelmingly emotional atmosphere just through the layering of guitars. Another great thing about this album is Mikael Akerfeldts astonishing use of light and shade within the vocals. Brutal screams juxtaposed against lush clean vocals: awsome. |

Dredg manage to fuse their pop melodies with their alt rock groundings in such a blissfully moving way. The groovy bass; solid beats; floating melodies and sparse guitars combined with intresting song structures create and emotional setting for the album's concept of sleep paralysis, and to be frank, it works darn well. |

Tubular Bells
When I was very small, my parents used to play this album a lot. Back then it scared me in a very bizzare way. Nowadays I have rediscovered it and am simply amazed. To think that Oldfield played nearly every instrument on this (and there are an awful lot displayed here) is nothing short of incredible and to be displayed in two tracks of instrumental beauty is truly astonishing. |

Emotion is hypothetically all that is needed to create good music and Damien Rice displays this impecably on his deubt offering 'O'. The music is for the most part very simple with acoustic guitar that is so gracefully laced with sublime strings. Perhaps one of the greatest debut albums of all time. |

This CD takes me back to summer '05 where I basically listened to this non-stop. This is The Mars Volta's best disc, which unfotunately was never matched. The grinding post-harcore roots of At The Drive-In are present but amalgamated with prog genius in the same vain as Yes is what is present here and it sure does work wonders for Cedric Bixler Zavala and co. |
