I'll admit that I was guilty of this for a bit but then I stopped trying to follow all the trends. I know what genres I like and I focus my energy on that music, and avoid other stuff. If it's popular on sputnik, well, neat? Sometimes this website does like good music you know.

I agree that people should look into styles they dig, but I'm also not going to lose any sleep over it if they don't. A lot of times, I just enjoy checking out what Sputnik is interested in and seeing what I think of it. And when I was a new user, I definitely hyped everything that everyone else loved: I guess you just come to realize your own tastes better as you listen to more music.
