02.28.22 | 3 should be Nevermind. Otherwise can't really disagree. |

02.28.22 | Yup. I'd just add The Afghan Whigs- Gentleman in as well |

02.28.22 | Nice to see In Utero here instead of Nevermind (even if the latter was the more commercially successful, I've definitely grown to love In Utero the most).
I also get why Ten and Core are here, even if they aren't my favorite albums by those bands (Vs. is my favorite Pearl Jam album, while Tiny Music, even if it's not grunge by any means, is my favorite STP album), given that they were both bands' biggest successes (which, in the case of Core, is pretty funny, given that STP seemed to be the rock world's favorite punching bag circa 1993/94, and became gradually more respected during the period between Purple and their initial breakup).
Though I will say, I am surprised by one thing -- no Siamese Dream? |

Uh... where's the contradiction? |

03.01.22 | First you say you agree with In Utero over Nevermind due to personal preference, despite Nevermind being the bigger commercial success.
Then you say you agree with Ten and Core because they're the bigger commercial successes, despite personal preference.
Consistency would dictate you either want your favourites each time (thus not agreeing with the PJ and STP picks), or the more commercially successful / conventional choice each time (meaning Nevermind, one of the most important albums in rock history, would need to be here.) |

03.01.22 | I never said that I agreed with Ten and Core being here. I said I understood why they're here, given that they are those two bands' most commercially successful albums. Replace "get why" with "agree with" and you'd have a good point, but I merely commented that I understood why they're on the list. "I get why they're here" and "I agree with them being here" don't mean the same thing, not by a longshot. |

03.01.22 | "Though I will say, I am surprised by one thing -- no Siamese Dream?"
I like the album a lot, but it's not really grunge in my opinion. |
JKing92
03.01.22 | I guess that's a fair point. The Pumpkins were not as unmistakably grunge as most of what's on this list, definitely more beholden to the sounds of arena rock, classic psychedelia, and even shoegaze than the grunge bands that took after the sounds of punk, classic rock, and metal. |

03.02.22 | "Yup. I'd just add The Afghan Whigs- Gentleman in as well"
I'd say I'd prefer Black Love, but I suppose Gentlemen is the more "grunge" of the two |
