| The most popular songs from my favorite bands
...according to Spotify. I was bored, so I went through my favorite bands list on sputnik and looked up their most listend to songs on Spotify. Here are the - obviously rounded - numbers: | 1 | Eminem Lose Yourself
1.296.000.000
Surprisingly this is not in his top 10 right now and 'Till I Collapse is about to surpass it. | 2 | Linkin Park In the End
1.173.000.000
Not much of a surprise. It was either going to be this or Numb. | 3 | Metallica Enter Sandman
800.000.000
I thought Nothing Else Matters would easily be their most popular track. It's funny how Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppet are always seen as their best albums but the Black Album is still the one most people are listening to. | 4 | Limp Bizkit Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)
300.000.000
I would love to see some of their new material getting the same amount of attention but this is a great song. | 5 | Korn Freak On a Leash
270.600.000
No surprise here. My personal favorite would be Did My Time but that one isn't even the most popular song on it's album. | 6 | Wu-Tang Clan C.R.E.A.M.
263.800.000
A hip hop classic with great lyrics by Inspectah Deck, Raekwon and Method Man and fantastic production by RZA. | 7 | Cypress Hill Insane in the Brain
247.600.000
Another hip hop classic with an energetic performance by B-Real and Sen Dog and really good production by DJ Muggs | 8 | Beastie Boys Sabotage
243.400.000
My favorite Beastie Boys song from my favorite Beastie Boys album. | 9 | Deftones Change (In the House of Flies)
143.900.000
We need to get Passenger on the same level! | 10 | Yelawolf Till It's Gone
139.200.000
That entire album made me a fan. | 11 | Slayer Raining Blood
124.800.000
The only surprise is how far ahead of Angel of Death this is with about twice as many clicks. Also: The world needs more Seasons in the Abyss fans. | 12 | Method Man and Redman Da Rockwilder
118.700.000
This is the most popular song on Spotify for both Method Man and Redman. My favortie Method Man song Release Yo Delf doesn't even come close and has less than 10 million views. | 13 | (hed) p.e. Raise Hell
12.930.000
From the time when they were extremely angry and aggressive sounding. I'd prefer something from Broke like Killing Time or one of their new songs like Hurricane or Crazy I Like. | 14 | Paradise Lost No Hope in Sight
7.995.000
Love it. | |

02.08.22 | LOL at the clip you shared, Emim.
All jokes aside, this is actually a pretty interesting exercise. I agree that it's intriguing that Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets (my two favorite albums of theirs, honestly) don't have any songs that surpass the streams that "Enter Sandman" gets, though that likely comes down to "Enter Sandman" connecting more with mainstream audiences than Ride and Master do.
As for some of my own favorite artists' most streamed songs (excluding Eminem, Metallica, and the Beastie Boys, who are all on your list):
The Beatles: "Here Comes the Sun" (766 million, honestly a little surprised -- thought that "Hey Jude" would be their most streamed, but that's only their fifth most streamed track)
Pink Floyd: "Wish You Were Here" (599 million, not too surprising, though I was also predicting "Another Brick in the Wall (Pt. 2), "Comfortably Numb," or "Money" would top the list)
David Bowie: "Heroes" (316 million, not a mainstream hit originally, but arguably his most iconic song, so I guess that checks out. I am surprised that "Fame" and "Golden Years" -- two of his biggest U.S. hits -- don't even make the top five, though)
Green Day: "Basket Case" (639 million, honestly surprised -- thought it would be one of the American Idiot singles)
Led Zeppelin: "Stairway to Heaven" (654 million, because why wouldn't it be number one? 😉)
Nine Inch Nails: "Closer" (145 million, makes sense, given that it's arguably their most well-known song)
Nirvana: "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (1.1 billion, of course it was going to be "Teen Spirit")
Outkast: "Ms. Jackson" (595 million, makes sense, even if I was predicting "Hey Ya!" would be number one)
Stone Temple Pilots: "Interstate Love Song" (237 million, thought it was going to be "Plush," but this was a huge hit too, so I guess that makes sense -- but I am a little surprised that the acoustic "Plush" is in the top five)
System of a Down: "Chop Suey!" (761 million, yeah, makes sense -- and naturally, "B.Y.O.B." is in the top three)
Tool: "Schism" (71 million, thought it would be "Sober," honestly a little surprised)
This was fun. | Vercetti
02.09.22 | I'm happy, you enjoyed it. It's also worth noting how these numbers can change depending on the platform. On Youtube for example you would have been right about Green Day (->Boulevard of Broken Dreams) and Outkast (->Hey Ya!). | JKing92
02.10.22 | Definitely interesting how they can change. Some platforms just attract different people with different tastes, I guess. |
