Schyma's Top 10 All Time Albums

Like trying to name off the most important people in your life in a limited number, this won't be easy.
1 Pink Floyd
Piper at the Gates of Dawn

Syd Barrett is the king of Psychedelia and possibly the most creative Rock songwriter ever and he certainly proves it here. This album changed my view on music forever.
2John Coltrane
A Love Supreme

Coltrane split the world in two when he converted his spiritual visions into music. This is quite possibly the greatest musical achievement of the 20th century. No jokes, folks.
3The Beatles
Revolver

This is my favorite album from the worlds most earth shattering Rock band. From the brilliant opening bass lines of "Taxman" to the ending psychedelic loop tapes of the Timothy Leary influenced "Tomorrow Never Knows".
4 Woody Guthrie
Dust Bowl Ballads

There's reason why Bob Dylan worshiped this man. The reason sleeps in this album as Woody where Guthrie paints a picture of how life was during the depression. Listening to this takes me back to being in the back of a boxcar in the 1940's with bums all crowing around to hear this bum sing songs about his hardships Oklahoma Dust Bowl Depression life. A historic masterpiece.
5 Django Reinhardt
Djangology

After 10 years, the greatest guitarist the world has ever known teams up with his old violinist and they tear these recordings up! With Django's mad freewheelin' gypsy guitar and Grappelli's elegantly gliding violin these guys seem like they haven't been missing a day of playing within those 10 years. "Minor Swing" is the greatest song ever as-well
6 The Allman Brothers Band
Live at Fillmore East

Holy GOD!!! Live playing has never been like this! This is infamously known as the greatest live Rock album of all time and for A-LOT of good reason too. Duane Allman and the band jam with each other so good you'd think they were playing Jazz! Duane died way too young. (R.I.P. Duane Allman)
7Grateful Dead
Workingman's Dead

Some where in the entire span of awfulness that surrounds their career the Grateful Dead actually made good material (hard to believe I know) it was when they decided they should go Country, they struck gold in this. Country (/Country Rock) has never been played so damn good! Jerry and the band really knew how to play Country it's a shame they didn't keep playing it.
8 The Kinks
Village Green

This album is a collection of genius written pop songs, Ray really knows how to compose Pop songs. He's craft is comparable to that of the Beatles in-fact. IT's a damn shame the Kinks weren't more popular. This album could have been a gigantic success
9 A Tribe Called Quest
Low End Theory

This is the most intelligent Rap group's masterwork here. My personal favorite Rap album and why not with rappers that flow so damn good waves in the sea couldn't flow more naturally. It's almost trippy to hear such smooth rapping.
10 Bob Dylan
Freewheelin' Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan shows the world why he's the greatest Folk singer since Woody Guthrie here, with lyrical masterpieces such as the infamous "Blowin in the Wind" or the dark "Masters of War" this is Bob Dylan at arguably his lyrical prime. This is why Bob Dylan is one of the most important figures in modern music.
