[Recs Closed] Doing full discog runs in 2024, need recs!

As stated in the title! I'll kick the list off with the bands I intend to get to first.
1Novelists
Souvenirs

[Definitely doing]

Because my core-lovin' ass needs fuel
2Shiner
Splay

[Definitely doing]

Yes, Mort, I'm finally checking Shiner.

Checked a couple tracks off Lula Divinia, and I honestly dug them pretty hard. Looking forward to checking them out more fully!
3The War On Drugs
Wagonwheel Blues

[Definitely doing]

This one's for my dad, who loved I Don't Live Here Anymore. I love the couple tracks I've heard off it, so I figured I may as well check them out in full!
4Motionless in White
When Love Met Destruction

[Definitely doing]

Probably gonna be the roughest of the discog runs? I loved Scoring the End of the World when it dropped, and several tracks off Disguise live rent-free in my head, but I'm kinda nervous to see how their early shit has aged
5Caskets
Lost Souls

[Definitely doing]

They're opening for Set It Off. My girlfriend got me tickets to the Set It Off show (god, I love her to death), so I better damn well familiarize myself with them!
6Silent Planet
The Night God Slept

[Definitely doing]

SUPERBLOOM and Iridescent are two of my all-time favorite metalcore albums, but Slant Plant's earlier stuff has never really stuck with me. I intend to change that in 2024
7TesseracT
One

[Definitely doing]

Forgot about these Brits! War of Being and Altered State are fun, so check the rest of their works I must!
8Rolo Tomassi
Hysterics

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by MarsKid

These guys've been on my radar, especially since their 2022 release blew up and got a ton of attention and talk, so I'm excited!

Update after discovery listening: Listened to Aftermath and Rituals. The transition blew me the fuck away
9Palm Reader
Bad Weather

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by MarsKid

I know nothing about this band, but if the genre tags are any indication, I'm gonna love this

Update after discovery listening: I did indeed love them. And they have a short discog so it'll be a breezy listen!
10Propagandhi
How to Clean Everything

Rec'd by SlothcoreSam

Update after discovery listening: not bad, definitely considering them! Some very good punk, there are just other bands that might take their place
11Strung Out
Another Day In Paradise

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by SlothcoreSam

Update after discovery listening: Those vocals alone are a yes and a half
12The World Is a Beautiful Place...
Formlessness

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by Feather

This is a daunting one, but I adore Illusory Walls, so unto the breach!

Update after discovery listening: As soon as this was rec'd, I had a feeling I'd be adding them to the pile. Finally listening to a song from an album not named Illusory Walls only confirmed that fact for me
13Cursive
Such Blinding Stars for Starving Eyes

Rec'd by Drifter

Update after discovery listening: Pretty good emo indie, but something isn't clicking. Might return to it in the future, but I'll be giving it more time before I try to discog run them
14Cows
Taint Pluribus Taint Unum

Rec'd by mryrtmrnfoxxxy

Update after discovery listening: "Yo girl I love it when you make my asshole bleed"

...wow. I don't really have much else to say outside of just wow
15Glassjaw
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence

Rec'd by JohnnyoftheWell

Know the lead singer from BMTH's Amen. That's it.

Update after discovery listening: Good! Incredibly good! Right up my alley for sure! I'm holding off on committing fully for now just because I want to see what else is down the line, and I still have 28 artists to check out
16Thursday
Waiting

Rec'd by JohnnyoftheWell

Update after discovery listening: Good old post-hardcore! Another one that I'm seriously considering!
17SikTh
The Trees Are Dead and Dried Out, Wait for Something Wild

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by JohnnyoftheWell

Update after discovery listening: There's that tasty djent I love to eat up! Vocals are gonna take a bit of time to wrap my head around, they're batshit nuts. But a short discog plus some truly sick guitar work makes it an easy yes in my book!
18Supercar
Three Out Change!!

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by JohnnyoftheWell

Update after discovery listening: Unsurprised that a Johnny J-Pop/J-Rock rec slaps six ways from Sunday. After last year when I barely listened to any J-Pop or J-Rock not named Utsu-P, it'll be nice to get back into the genre!
19Seiko Oomori
Mahou ga tsukaenai nara shinitai

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by JohnnyoftheWell

Love Tokyo Black Hole and ZOC Jikkenshitsu, so I have high hopes!

Update after discovery listening: Another case of being pretty sure I was gonna add her to the pile from the moment of being rec'd. 8 albums, one of which isn't on streaming services may be a slightly daunting task, but I'm down for it!
20The Drones
Here Come the Lies

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by porcupinetheater

Update after discovery listening: Suuuuper tasty noise rock. I dig it!
21Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
From Her To Eternity

Rec'd by mkmusic1995

Update after discovery listening: Nick's a crooner for sure! Love the atmosphere, but I think this is one of those discographies I want to check out, just not right this instant
22The Dillinger Escape Plan
Calculating Infinity

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by Prancer

Update after "discovery" listening: Okay, so One Of Us Is the Killer (the song) has already been in heavy rotation, so this is less discovery compared to the rest, but still. I'm still in love with this brand of mathcore, can't wait to hear their full discog. It's a relatively short one too, which is nice!
23Converge
Halo in a Haystack

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by Demon Of The Fall

Update after discovery listening: Fuck me, I keep adding more bands but they're all amazing. Anyways, Converge is the metalcore band I've tried to listen to for forever, but just hasn't clicked, like that one missing puzzle piece. Let's see if that'll change!
24Every Time I Die
Last Night in Town

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by Demon Of The Fall

Update after discovery listening: More mathcore/metalcore? Okay, I'm down for it!
25Nails
Unsilent Death

[Definitely doing]

Rec’d by AsleepInTheBack

Update after discovery listening: Noisy and riffy and since I’ve been trying to get into the more grind and grind-adjacent styles of music, I think this short discog is a perfect addition to the massive list.
26The Hotelier
It Never Goes Out

Rec'd by AsleepInTheBack

God, it's only been an hour-ish? I think? And already there's so many discogs

Update after discovery listening: Well, I’m depressed now. Really great indie rock that reminds me a little of TWIABP, but we’re at the point where I have to make some sacrifices. I will be doing a discog run for these guys in the future though, that’s for sure
27He Is Legend
I Am Hollywood

Rec'd by BookoftheFallen

Update after discovery listening: Didn’t grab me as much as I thought it would. Maybe I’ll give it another try in the future though
28Alexisonfire
Alexisonfire

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by Onionbubs

Update after discovery listening: Incredible guitar work and some pretty great vocals! I've heard pretty positive things about this band, and at 5 albums and 2 EPs, should be a pretty breezy discog run! (Plus they're repping the Canadian maple jockeys of the world)
29Poison the Well
The Opposite of December

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by Onionbubs

Update after discovery listening: Those are some damn gnarly screams! Also a pretty breezy discog run overall
30Misery Signals
Of Malice and the Magnum Heart

Rec'd by Onionbubs

Update after discovery listening: I was on the fence about this one because it was really fucking good, but I have 21 bands already, and I anticipate adding at least 5 more by the end of this, so... not this time
31Sun Ra
Sun Song

Too long, not listening. That's a project for another year

Rec'd by GhandhiLion
32The Chariot
Everything Is Alive, Everything Is...

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by BlazinBlitzer

Update after discovery listening: Knowing that their last 2 albums are so much more well-regarded than their first three makes me curious, so here we go!
33Counterparts
Prophets

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by 0xME

Update after discovery listening: Either one of the most consistent metalcore acts or one of the most circlejerked, depending on who you ask on Sput. Several tracks on Nothing Left to Love have been on my workout playlist for a while, so I'm more than happy to dive into their discography proper
34Nine Inch Nails
Pretty Hate Machine

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by KTDB

Update after discovery listening: Possibly the artist I've listened to the most prior to this discovery month. I've listened to Downward Spiral in its entirety, plus a couple other big hit tracks here and there. It's a larger discography, but I've always wanted to check them out in full, so they're on the list!
35Skyharbor
Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos

[Definitely doing]

Rec'd by Onionbubs

Update after discovery listening: Short discog and a great lead vocalist, plus prog metal rep on a list that lacks it!
36Trophy Scars
Darts to the Sea

Rec'd by Azazzel
37Shai Hulud
A Profound Hatred Of Man

Rec'd by botb
38Camel
Camel

Rec'd by demigod!

Prog and jazz fusion as the tags? Consider me sold!
39Peter Gabriel
Car

Rec'd by onionbubs
40Oneida
A Place Called El Shaddai's

Rec'd by ArsMoriendi
41At the Drive-In
Hell Paso

Rec'd by BAT
42Melvins
Gluey Porch Treatments

Rec'd by DominionMM1

Oh god, another super long discog...
43Type O Negative
