12.07.21 | Wanted to highlight some of my favorite country of the year that's either been overlooked on Sput (6, 9, 10) or overlooked in general (the rest of the list). Only order is Kiely Connell at number 1, the rest I just listed as I thought of them
With the exception of Yola, these are all pretty dang country, not alt country or anything of the sort. Joshua Ray Walker, Mike and the Moonpies, and Billy Strings are all very authentic honky tonk/modern interpretations of traditional country. None of that fancy pants Americana! (Although I love fancy pants Americana) | SlothcoreSam
12.07.21 | Only got one to add to your list.
Amends (AUS) - Tales of Love, Loss and Outlaws.
Is Australiana, tinged Americana alt country.
Even has Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! on one track. | YoYoMancuso
12.07.21 | michael jackson - thriller | tyman128
12.07.21 | gonna have to check some of these out, need some more country for sure! | Trifolium
12.07.21 | Nice! Will check a few of these as well.
Have you heard
Joana Serrat - Hardcore From The Heart
mathias? Not country per se, but very clear americana influences and a cutie of a record too. | Colton
12.07.21 | do you want sowingseason? cause this is how you get sowingseason | fogza
12.07.21 | I thought this would be about Guyana | Gnocchi
12.07.21 | Is there any black metal leanings in any of these that would get me to convert? | dmathias52
12.07.21 | Ooh thanks for the recs Sloth and Trif - Haven’t heard either of those!
And if it was spelled Mike and the Møønpies would you be convinced @Gnocchi? | Josh D.
12.07.21 | Country should be overlooked. | bludngorevidal
12.07.21 | I thought this would be about Guyana [2] | dmathias52
12.07.21 | Guyana is a good shout but feel like Oceania gets underrepresented. I’d say Tuvalu is more overlooked | Gnocchi
12.07.21 | --And if it was spelled Mike and the Møønpies would you be convinced--
Maybe. Better than nothing haha. | Sunnyvale
12.08.21 | Sweet list, gonna check 8 (I've only heard 3, which was pretty decent but didn't blow me away) | theBoneyKing
12.08.21 | Neat list my man! I haven’t heard any of these (and had only heard of a couple) but that’s not surprising as I haven’t been super into country this year outside of established artists I follow. May try one or two as I close out my 2021 catch-up listening. | fogza
12.09.21 | True Tuvalu is pretty good |
