15 Of The Best

15 of my favorite...kinda ranked
1Thrice
Vheissu

I doubt many people with agree with me here, but I think it's the perfect mix of melodic and aggressive thrice. Case in point: Between the End and Where We Lie and Of Dust And Nations
2Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here

Does this need explaining?
3Megadeth
Rust In Peace

Progressive-like thrash metal. Easily the 'Deth's best album.
4Pink Floyd
Animals

Once again...I don't think this needs explaining.
5Steely Dan
Aja

Steely Dan is one of the most overlooked bands ever. The title track is as perfect as music can get, the jazz influence on this album (and the band in general) works so well to set them apart from other 70s rock acts.
6Thrice
The Illusion of Safety

This album blew me away when I first heard it. And it still does even today.
7Oasis
Whats The Story Morning Glory

Oasis had it perfect for a little while. Then perfect got boring, and people wanted better than perfect, which, well...can't be done.
8Fleetwood Mac
Rumours

Oh what an album. Just goes to show that when people are miserable they tend to write better music (sometimes)
9John Mayer
Continuum

Mr. Mayer finally gets it right with a great album of relaxing, relatively bluesy guitar and catchy tunes.
10Cut Copy
In Ghost Colours

Possibly the best synth work of this decade.
11Joe Satriani
Surfing With The Alien

Some of the best instrumental rock ever
12Herbie Hancock
Headhunters

My personal favorite fusion album ever.
13Guns n' Roses
Appetite For Destruction

It's raw, it's pure, and it's pretty damn good.
14Thrice
The Artist in the Ambulance

Not quite as good as Vheissu or Illusion, but still fucking awesome. Hoods of Peregrine is extremely underrated.
15Coldplay
Viva la Vida

Say what you want...this is a solid album in my book. Songs like 42, Strawberry Hill, and the title track are true standouts.
