Same shit happened with Attack Attack and Asking Alexandria, although the third wave ended up taking more from This Means War era Attack Attack later on (see Wage War and all their clones).

If you want to classify individual styles feel free to do so as subgenres (spoiler: kse et al were described as melodic metalcore for the most part), rather than a descriptor like 'third-wave' which doesn't really describe it at all

As much as I want to hear the Killswitch-esque style return to metalcore, I've been finding acts like From Autumn to Ashes and Glassjaw a lot more interesting lately and would like to see a more full-scale revival of that style.
