I do hope the sound gets a bit polished on Demon's souls, the fromsoft games have always had awesome and subtle sound design, which is a great tool to make the game immersive.

I guess Sony confirmed that this is indeed a PS5 exclusive, so I won't be getting to this for a few years at least since I just got a Bloodborne player last year.

aydross121 09.19.20	Dark Souls is kinda like the spiritual succesor to the fist Zelda in a sense: 1) Both games start with you in the middle of the map and you need to explore outwards. 2) Both feel like mazes. 3) You can complete the bosses/dungeons in multiple orders, although it's easy to know the right way because there is always one that is easier to go through. 4) The story is non-existant and it's up to the lore and atmosphere to complete it. I know some people will cringe at the idea of comparing DS with anything nowadays, but I'd say it's not a long shot.

Hyperion1001 11.14.20	this is why i dropped out of the "gaming" world a while ago. a 3% increase in processing power means nothing. there are games from the 90's that look better than a vast majority of the gleepglop shit AAA studios put out nowadays, but we're still freaking out over "the best graphics". not to mention that modern graphics are especially interested in recreating a "cinematic" feel, which means they're awash with ugly shit like bloom and motion blur, which are properties of a camera lens and not the human eye. tbh the first thing I do when i load up a new game is turn off essentially all the lighting effects. just recently finished the 2016 DOOM and it was literally unplayable with motion blur and bloom on. there's so much out there to play that there's really no reason to stay up-to-date with the most recent tech. it's just mindless consumerism at this point anyways.

I've played a couple switch ports of games for other consoles (mk11 and outer worlds for instance) and the graphic difference makes them virtually unplayable for me and makes it feel like I'm not getting the full experience. So yes they matter. Also being fun and pretty arent mutually exclusive. Outer worlds on switch is a good example again cuz it was still fun but it wasnt pretty and it would have been much funner if it was both.

Just reached the point of diminishing returns I guess. I feel like actual game development has stagnated too. We have a brand new console and the only games are a remake of a 12 year old game, a Spiderman game that's pretty much identical to the last one, and a fuckin Assassin's Creed game

Lord(e)Po)))ts 11.14.20	Since I missed most of last gen I cant comment too much on how much they've improved compared to this gen but the new ps5 games and the most recent ps4 games look incredible to me, though the jump from other last gen stuff I've played like ds3 isnt quite as staggering as the jump from previous gens. That being said it now seems to be refinement and details, the way things move and breath and stuff and honestly it makes a difference to my eye at least.

beefshoes 11.15.20	I am not going to say that graphics mean nothing, but the style is important to consider. Games like Jet Set Radio from 2000 and most of the more beautiful examples of 8-32 bit 2D games (Streets of Rage 2 and Castlevania SOTN as examples) have aged brilliantly in comparison to the visuals in Skyrim or Witcher 3 for example. Attempts at realism tend to be outdated very quickly upon release, and I am sure that it will be the same way with the PS5 as it has been with every generation thus far.

For home I'm in the market still but thinking about either a Aurora R11 or an Omen 30L, both with the 10700k and 1660ti for roughly $1200-1300, but they have massive power supplies and upgrade capability so if I ever actually wanna start PC gaming and swap the GPU I will have that flexibility. My main priority is just fitting it with 64gb of 3600 ram cause I have the tab management skills of a retarded monkey.
GhostB1rd 11.15.20	Also unless you actively enjoy building your own PC buying a pre-built and then swapping certain components makes infinitely more sense cause it's much more efficient and is actually usually a few hundred bucks cheaper than buying all components piecemeal.
