Northern Invasion Was Fantastic

I spent the morning of May 11 through the morning of May 14 camping at Northern Invasion in Somerset, WI. It was honestly one of the greatest times of my life. I went with my girlfriend, who likes most of the same music as me and loves going to concerts, my uncle, and two other friends. List is the bands I saw/listened to.
1Stick To Your Guns
True View

First show I saw here. Never listened to them much before, but thought they'd be fun based off the couple songs I had heard. They did not disappoint at all! Lots of moshing, lots of energy from the band and crowd, was just a great time. There was one crowdkiller who fucked up someone's face, but he got dealt with shortly after and thrown out of the crowd.
2Senses Fail
Let It Enfold You

I've wanted to see these guys since middle school, so about 9 years. Gotta say, they didn't disappoint. I wasn't familiar with everything they played, but it was a good mix of new and old. The inclusion on a couple songs from Let It Enfold You was nostalgic af. Also say the lead singer watching A Perfect Circle later that day and my uncle went and spoke to him. Said he was a really nice guy.
3Miss May I
Shadows Inside

Knew I wanted to see them, as I loved some of their stuff back around 2012, but their performance blew me away. So much energy and crowd interaction. Great pits, too. Levi nails his vocals live.
4Breaking Benjamin
Phobia

They played all the staples of their catalogue, so that was obviously pretty fun. But they also did a rendition of The Imperial March from Star Wars, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Walk, and Sad But True, which was a fantastic touch.
5Parkway Drive
Reverence

I don't like a lot of these guys' material, but they put on one hell of a live performance. The songs they performed from the new album, as well as really everything else, had the crowd going crazy.
6A Perfect Circle
Eat the Elephant

Maynard is a very interesting character. He spent most of the instrumental sections just dancing awkwardly, stiffly, and a little creepily, but it was charming in a Maynard way. Had a great setlist, but very little crowd interaction.
7Avenged Sevenfold
Waking the Fallen

Honestly wasn't super excited for their set, but it mostly blew me away. They had stunning visuals from fireworks, flames, awesome accompanying videos on the big monitors, etc. Set list had a couple duds, but it was mostly top notch. Hearing them perform Unholy Confessions was definitely a treat, although they played it a bit slower than the studio version and Shadows definitely doesn't have the vox he used to.
810 Years
(How to Live) As Ghosts

Never heard a tremendous amount from them, aside from singles, but figured I'd check their set. It was a fantastic start to the second day. Their performance was absolutely stellar and they were great with the crowd. The lead singer even came out into the crowd to surf for a bit. Best performance was probably of one of the singles off their newest album, Novocain.
9Mutoid Man
War Moans

Only heard them because they were playing right next to the stage where I See Stars was setting up, but they sounded great. They had a lot of goofy quips that they hurled at the crowd between songs and it was usually funny. Music was great, too.
10I See Stars
New Demons

Second time seeing these guys, first time being at Warped 2016. Their performance was fine there, but it was top notch here. Ridiculous amount of crowd interaction, stellar setlist, etc. Anything they played off this album was great, namely Ten Thousand Feet and Murder Mittens. Had the entire crowd bouncing the whole time. Lead singer also came out into the crowd.
11Asking Alexandria
Asking Alexandria

Damn, these guys are awful. I left halfway through their set to get food. Danny can't even nail the vocals on their new album. At all.
12Dance Gavin Dance
Mothership

Second time seeing these guys, first time being at Warped Tour 2017. I love these guys, and they never fail to impress me live. It is incredible how great all of their members are live. Their set was the most fun I had the entire time.
13Stone Temple Pilots
Purple

At this point in the afternoon, we were completely beat from moshing, pushing our way to the front of crowds, etc. so we spent the rest of the time sitting, but we had a great view of the main stage, albeit far away. The monitors they had on these sides of the stage helped a lot in that regard. These guys played all their classics. It was obviously a fun time.
14Alice in Chains
Dirt

Much like STP, they played all of their classics, plus a newer song. Their performance was insanely good. Never heard the new vocalist up until this point, but damn he is good.
15Tool
Lateralus

I'm not even joking when I say their performance was the coolest musical experience of my life. It was very dark at this point (9:15pm-10:45pm), so they had the opportunity to take full advantage of all of they laser lights, monitors full of trippy visuals ala their music video visuals and additional visuals, etc. to put on a jaw dropping visual spectacle to go along with their music. I've always liked Tool, but I never loved them. Their performance made me love them. I was in complete awe throughout their entire set.
