Birthday Take at My Local Used CD Stores

Around my birthday, in early March, visited my local 2nd & Charles. There is not much more that I like to do than zone out and dig through the racks. This visit, I really took the time to leaf through the CD racks (as none of my kids were with me), and found some true gems (nos. 1 through 4), a couple of time pieces (nos. 5 and 6), and a few duds (nos. 7 and 8). Decided to up this trip and visit Fantasyland. Bought three awesome concert posters (for Corrosion of Conformity 2019 tour, a Helmet/Prong co-headlining 2018 tour, and a 10 Years 2014 tour). Also scored no. 9 below. All in all, an exceptional take this March. Happy Birthday to me!
1Spiritual Beggars
Return To Zero

A strange mix between stoner rock and power metal. But I dig it the more I listen to it.
2Jeremy Irons and the Ratgang Malibus
Spirit Knife

This CD was new, still in wrapping, and around $3. Bought this solely based on being released by Small Stone Records. Really digging this!
3Dwellers
Pagan Fruit

Similar to above, this CD was new, still in wrapping, released by Small Stone Records, and around $3. Also really digging this. Almost has a Doors feel, at times.
4Black Water Rising
Black Water Rising

Saw that this band will be at Planet Desert Rock Weekend v.2 in May 2019. Had to take a listen. A great heavy/hard rock album featuring former members of Stereomud and Dust to Dust.
5Mushroomhead
XX

What can I say, but was in the mood and giving some respect to Cleveland!
63rd Strike
Lost Angel

Yeah, was in the mood for some nu metal. A timepiece, but a good listen. Also has a pretty unique cover of Black Sabbath's Paranoid to boot.
7Dread Zeppelin
Un-Led-Ed

Had high hopes for this. Not terrible, but elvis impersonation + reggae rock + Led Zep classics does not a great album make.
8Katatonia
Dance of December Souls

I am a big fan of later Katatonia releases....thought I would check out some early stuff. Vocals just don't work with me.
9Fu Manchu
Signs Of Infinite Power

Old Fu Manchu, Brant Bjork-era Fu Manchu, new Fu Manchu - love it all. Whenever I find a Fu Manchu album (that I don't already have), I jump on that!
