| Architects All Our Gods+Holy hell
Soooo after a discussion with Onionbubs in the daybreaker thread about how if you mixed these two kind of flat records you could get one a good one or at least better. Remove the context of Toms death from All Our Gods and you will find that half of it is the same fucking song(firat three tracka after nihilist). So i made this sort of playlist focusing on the tracks about mortality and the journey of loss to acceptance. | 1 | Architects Nihilist
Questioning faith, humanity, what comes after | 2 | The Empty Hourglass
This ones iffy but sort of went with realising your time is up and its only a matter of time before the end | 3 | Damnation
Begining to understand you will have accept your death | 4 | Gone With the Wind
Trapped in illness and dying, realising there is no way out | 5 | Mortal After All
Acceptence, accepting your own mortality | 6 | Memento Mori
Finally dying and saying goodbye | 7 | Death Is not Defear
Loved ones, those left behins pixking up the pieces and mourning the loss | 8 | Hereafter
Remembering, longing for the ones you lost | 9 | Doomsday
This ending of Holy hell still works herw tbh, starting to accept the loss and move forward with life | 10 | A wasted Hymn
The phantom pains and memories of the loved one, the wound still hurting but not overwhelming | |
Ectier
07.20.23 | Could be a bit shit but hey. This has been in my brain and Ive been depressed and had to deal with family shit. Screaming children and possible parental heart failure | kalkwiese
07.20.23 | I appreciate the effort to morph two iffy records into a better one. Might try this track order some time in the future | mkmusic1995
07.20.23 | So as you can tell from my profile pic, I'm a big fan of this era of Architects personally with All Our Gods and Lost Together being peak modern metalcore for me. That being said, if I had to combine Holy Hell and All Our Gods to make the ultimate record I would do:
1. Nihilist
2. Phantom Fear
3. Hereafter
4. Gone With the Wind
5. A Match Made in Heaven
6. Mortal After All
7. Gravity
8. From The Wilderness
9. All Love is Lost
10. A Wasted Hymn
11. Memento Mori | Ectier
07.20.23 | I focused on aiming for a theme on mortality. Which is why some of the better cuts from All Our gods(Gravity, wilderness) are absent here aa well as Royal beggers and Holy hell. I wanted Memento Mori to be the centrepiece, death is not defeat is apparently meant to connect both records as its a follow on to Memento according to the band b | mkmusic1995
07.21.23 | That's fair, I very much appreciate that focus when creating your tracklist. I definitely went more in favor of just my favorites and lined them up so they flowed decently. | Ectier
07.21.23 | On relisten Empty Hourglass suprised me a lot tbh. If i get bored may do another thats not based on the concept | bellovddd
07.21.23 | All Our Gods is the only record i really like from these dudes. hope you doing alright. | Ectier
07.21.23 | Getting there bellovddd. Lifes all up and down, years been a never ending shitshow tbh | Butkuiss
07.21.23 | Hollow crown will always be their best, but All Our Gods is definitely in their upper echelon of releases 🤷♂️ | bellovddd
07.21.23 | I feel ya Ectier. Just gotta keep on doing what we can with what we've got. | Spec
07.21.23 | AOGHAU was released without the context of Toms passing because he hadn’t passed yet dummy. | Ectier
07.21.23 | Pls dont bully me spec ;-; you are right though.
I have a signed copy somewhere. Just meant the record has more impact and association with his death and fight with cancer lyrically and in general sadly. |
