| in need of drunken, wailing, howling rock albums
peoples help me out with this please | 1 | | nick cave and the bad seeds let love in
i'm not familiar with nick cave's discog, so guide me through more of his works that sound like this. tender prey? henry's dream? something more captivating would be very nice, i feel like this one slightly fails to create the atmosphere of the crushing blues in full | 2 | | tom waits rain dogs
more stuff like this obvs | 3 | | mark lanegan whiskey for the holy ghost
and this | |

02.21.18 | thanks anyway, maybe someone who hasn't heard it before will listen and love it too | pypypymble
02.21.18 | is it his early band, i think i heard one of their albums with this kinda simplistic bright cover, let me check | pypypymble
02.21.18 | yep it was goddam prayers on fire, but i don't remember a single thing off it, so i guess it wasn't my jam and i think it was post-punk and shit, i need something bluesy and singer/songwritery | Astral Abortis

02.21.18 | also when it comes to Cave, the next best bet for you would be Henry's Dream.
If you want really off the walls, go listen to his Grinderman project. | Deathconscious
02.21.18 | Dinosaur Jr. - Bug
Archers of Loaf - Icky Mettle
Built to Spill - There's Nothing Wrong With Love
The Mumzees - Heavy Desert
Sebadoh - Bakesale
Treepeople - Guilt Regret Embarrassment
The Gaslight Anthem - The '59 Sound | Dwap
02.21.18 | Neil Young - Tonight’s The Night | bgillesp
02.21.18 | Check the song Tupelo by Nick Cave (his best song imo). Also the song Golden age of Bloodshed by Rowland S. Howard. If you dig check their albums | pypypymble
02.21.18 | ok i'm back | pypypymble
02.21.18 | thanks everyone, gonna listen to all yr songs for a little preview and put my thoughts in one long ass comment next | pypypymble
02.21.18 | grinderman - listened to a couple songs, mostly off the second lp, good energy shit but more stoner rock than what i need
sister ray - yo i might stay with this and get the album, lovin' the mix of fuzziness, laziness and garageness, altho 40 mins of this style is never a good thing
tropical fuck storm - whoa didn't kno the dude from the drones was doing this, excited now, but no album so whatever, but song's what i needed yea
marching church - i am really not a fan of all this modern melancholic post-punk bands tryin to be cool, it just doesn't sound convincing to me, i prefer more abstract modern post-punk shit which at least doesn't sound like clinging to a specific vibe
the drones - ya i kno this band, they rawk
nick cave - i listened to some of the songs off Henry's Dream and they all sounded like country/psychobilly songs honestly, after that i don't really wanna explore the album, so i'll prolly stick to let love in or idk is Tender Prey worth a try? or The Good Son? also, tupelo is FUCKIN FANTASTIC, i need more of that
dinosaur jr - i'm familiar with them, my problem with this band is that they never appealed to me spiritually unlike some other indie acts from the 90s
archers of loaf - heard it, is very cool
built to spill - heard it, is cool (this particular album is just cool, not very cool lol)
the mumzees - sounds fun, but i can already tell this won't be super memorable, can't allow even a slightly better than average rock album in my situation
sebadoh - heard it, is very cool
treepeople - well i heard their other album with that asshole on the cover, doug martsch is the man
the gaslight anthem - heard it, is very cool (btw listen to red city radio - titles, so sweet)
neil young - hell yes, soothing but in a different way
rowland s. howard - oh what the fuck, i'm so on board for this, this is it, THIS IS IT, just like tupelo, this is the sound | Deathconscious
02.21.18 | shit, my recs werent much help at all lmao. | Dunwich
02.21.18 | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsKiTHw1vdQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk7pxBGLqaM | pypypymble
02.21.18 | well to be fair 90s indie isn't what i wanted in the first place, but they're all good things
thanks dubwich, i love that 2nd song | bgillesp
02.21.18 | Yay! | dbizzles
02.21.18 | Henry's Dream is a 5.
Maybe check Red of Tooth and Claw by Murder By Death. | cylinder
02.21.18 | Mclusky - mclusky do Dallas
no trend - too many humans
| bgillesp
02.22.18 | Interpol- Breaker1 may do you good as another song, but yeah the album Tupelo is from (The Firstborn is Dead) is way underrated in his Discog if you want to check it. |
