03.29.23 | Just counting full albums here. Irony Is a Dead Scene is in the same range as 3-6 and Under the Running Board might be bottom because it's too short to leave too much for me. |
Ryus
03.29.23 | 6 is the only one i rly like (yea im that guy). i dont like greg
5 and 4 are dece. havent heard 1 but my ranking might quite literally be the exact opposite of yours lol
edit: actually according to my ratings i have heard 1 lmao. dont even remember doing so |
veninblazer
03.29.23 | Fair enough. Original vocalist is unhinged and great I just honestly prefer the moodier and more experimental bent of later albums |
calmrose
03.29.23 | 1's their worst album easily ryus |
IsisScript80
03.29.23 | I don't have a similar ranking either ('Ire Works' at 1, the most recent one at 6), but Ryus, just curious... why in particular, don't you like Greg? |
Avagantamos
03.29.23 | really hard band for me to rank, but one of us is the killer is easily last for me |
calmrose
03.29.23 | 6, Irony, 3, 2, 4, 5, 1 |
Ryus
03.29.23 | for the most part, his screams are way less unhinged than i'd like for a band like dillinger. dimitri brought the batshit energy the band needed imo.
from a songwriting standpoint i also just dont rly like the direction the band went in after CI, not sure how much of that is greg's fault though. also just find his cleans kind of irritating |
botb
03.29.23 | Irony, 6, 4, 5, 1, 3, 2 prob |

03.29.23 | You got 6 and 1 backwards bro |

One of Us is the Killer
All are 4.5 or higher tho. Most consistent band of all time imo

veninblazer
03.29.23 | I've been really vibing One of Us Is the Killer lately, yeah their consistency is amazing |
IsisScript80
03.29.23 | ^ It's your choice and it's a waste of time to argue someone's personal taste, but you shouldn't be surprised that it's polarizing, because while good, it's the lesser of of their entire output by many people's opinion (mine included).
It felt that most of the material on there had been done before (but better), and for a band that constantly sought innovation, it felt like the right time to call it quits. |
DavidYowi
03.29.23 | “it's the lesser of of their entire output by many people's opinion (mine included).”
bold claim dude. It’s not like there’s one TDEP album that people go “yeah that’s the worst one”, all their records have been someone’s best.
This is to say 1 is easily my favorite, it’s everything the band excelled at and everyone is at their peak performance. |
MFPENCIL
03.29.23 | TDEP are cool because you can name any of their albums as your 1 and I'd understand. Even Ire Works. |
Wildcardbitchesss
03.29.23 | I was with you until the end, Ire Works is a strong contender for my favorite TDEP album.
But again. You could say any of them are your favorite and in any order and I wouldn’t argue. Ridiculously impressive discography. |

03.29.23 | Dissociation sucks
Ire Works rules |
IsisScript80
03.29.23 | @DavidYowi--I don't discount that 'Dissociation' has a number of fans that would put it as their #1, but the OP seemed genuinely surprised how seemingly unpopular it is (relatively, for such as consistently brilliant band) in this thread, whereas I've seen similar sentiments/prevailing options expressed over a number of years. Therefore the surprise element, I'd say, shouldn't be there even if it was your fave. That's it really. |
veninblazer
03.29.23 | I would be less surprised with Ire Works due to its overall average lol |
Zac124
03.29.23 | All of their albums are fantastic but I have to say OOUITK is my favourite of theirs (and of all time). |
Ectier
03.29.23 | You could pick almost any album of them and itd be the top. Dissociation is my faviourite because it was my gateway into them. Option is dillinger 101 to me it has every element to expect from them. Ire works is fun as hell |

BenCee
03.30.23 | I'd switch 4 and 1, but other than that I'd say I agree with this ranking. Calculating Infinity is really good but the production holds it back in a big way in my opinion (same goes for Miss Machine to a lesser extent). |
JohnnyoftheWell
03.30.23 | Calculating Infinity and Option Paralysis are the best
Dissociation is the worst
this ranking is not good
where is Irony
next |
Demon of the Fall
03.30.23 | to be fair they explained Irony's (non-)placing, with you on ranking is not good and CI / OP are their best two
ranking would be way more accurate if completely reversed tbh |

03.30.23 | “ also just find his cleans kind of irritating”

There’s so much to like about their music and Greg’s not at all bad, but i still have trouble enjoying his cleans |
MFPENCIL
03.30.23 | I like Greg's clean vocals :p |
Demon of the Fall
03.30.23 | they just take a bit of getting used to, his range and versatility is impressive
Dmitri is ferocious on CI, but Greg gives the band a completely different dimension
I used to be team Dmitri, now I'm team 'we don't have to choose' |
JohnnyoftheWell
03.30.23 | I can dig a lot of Greg's cleans but really dislike huge much weight the songwriting in (mainly) Dissociation heaped on them. Chorus of e.g. Nothing to Forget is just terrible |
Demon of the Fall
03.30.23 | Dissociation doesn't count in my mind, I'm talking pre-Killer tDEP. i.e. the good shit |
MoM
03.30.23 | “Dmitri is ferocious on CI, but Greg gives the band a completely different dimension”
Totally understandable and i definitely think cleans were a necessary element for where they went with their music. Maybe I’ll give them another shot at some point |

03.30.23 | Team 'we don't have to choose' [2]
Both suit their eras, love Greg in general other than his piercing screeches in Dissociation. |

03.30.23 | "they just take a bit of getting used to, his range and versatility is impressive"
In the early days, his Mike Patton and Trent Reznor influences were especially apparent. If you liked those, it wasn't any barrier to entry. He grew to sound more like himself, but he always was a phenomenal vocalist, IMO. Huge creative talent. |
Wildcardbitchesss
03.30.23 | I love his piercing screeches lol |
syco722
03.30.23 | I think Greg is one of the best and most versatile harsh vocalists of all time, it's interesting to see someone disagree. Band rules |
