Progressive thrash metal

The best genre of metal during my younger years. Here are some of my favorite from the genre.
1Toxik
Think This

Best progthrash album ever. Best thrash album ever. Better than mental vortex. Every single member of this band is fucking ungodly with their talent. It’s like a supergroup or something...holy fuck. Still the best ever.
2Coroner
Mental Vortex

Well it’s still one of the best
3Metallica
...And Justice for All

I hate it when people say this album is a Boeing step down from Master Of Puppets. This is Metallica at their most creative and ambitious effort with an endless sea of fuckin heavy catchy groovy riffs. I can definitely see how bands like Opeth, Dream Theater, and even Meshuggah owe their everything to this one. I’ve never been huge into Metallica but this has always been my favorite from them and the only album that’s never gotten stale.
4Stone
No Anaesthesia!

A criminally underrated progthrash album. Love how random songs just end at the most boazzare places.
5Dark Angel
Time Does Not Heal
6Mekong Delta
The Music of Erich Zann
7Watchtower
Energetic Disassembly

Some people like the other album more but this one is definitely better. Love it
8Flotsam and Jetsam
Doomsday for the Deceiver

Jason Newsted should’ve stayed here. His bass moments are really good. Some excellent heavy riffs to be found.
9Coroner
No More Color

Almost as good as Mental Vortex. I actually used to like it more.
10Blind Illusion
The Sane Asylum

Les Claypool playing progthrash alongside members of Possessed and Heathen...need I fuckin say more?
11Slayer
Divine Intervention

People will laugh at me for calling Slayer prog (as they have before) but wouldn’t you call alternating time signatures, clean interludes, and sudden riff changes win complex structures progressive? I would. Throw Killing Fields or 213 on a progthrash compilation and they’ll fit right in. Anyways album rules. Suck that 3.3 rating wtf is that bullshit
12Hexenhaus
Awakening

Very underrated
13Control Denied
The Fragile Art of Existence

Is this thrash? Well it’s def prog, and it’s good.
14Sadus
A Vision of Misery
15Heathen
Victims of Deception
16Aspid
Extravasation

Cyka blyat
17Sadist

Roots of Eternity
19Meshuggah

22Xentrix
For Whose Advantage?
23Slammer
The Work of Idle Hands...
24Voivod
