11.16.17 | mostly other outsider arrtists there but repin, philpot and kusama were/are of different movements
i personally find the most interesting thing about outsider art not to be the art itself often, but the story behind it's creation and the raw talent untainted by prescriptivist ideas of art. Art for personal relief over art for art's sake will always strike more of a chord with me |

11.16.17 | Sint, funny, years ago I wrote a paper in law class on whether a semblance of child pornography presented as art can constitute aesthetics for their own sake, and darger was one of my lean-ons.. |
GhostOfSarcasticBtrd
11.16.17 | Sint has some pretty suspect art taste. |
Sinternet
11.16.17 | sinternet allegations when?
but seriously yeah it's an divisive topic but all the evidence of darger's life and mannerisms points to him being developmentally challenged to the point he didn't understand female biology, sex, or relationships. He was obsessed with the purity and innocence of children being upheld and protected at all costs, possibly due to like abuse as a child. On the other hand, you have people who use that kind of material willingly and knowing full well what they are doing (usually in an attempt to shock or something like that) such as whitehouse. |
butcherboy
11.17.17 | yea, research for that paper took me into some grim corners of the interwebs.. |
