these are not your dreams

Nice compilation of 3 EPs they released over the year.

Splinters From An Ever-Changing Face

They sound a little angry.
14Expander
Neuropunk Boostergang

Crossover thrash from the future.

Beep boop.
12Aesop Rock
Spirit World Field Guide

A bit bloated and not as strong as Impossible Kid, but I love the production here.
11Jeff Rosenstock
NO DREAM

Never been a big Jeff fan, but this heavier direction he goes in on this album is something I can get behind.
10King Krule
Man Alive!

Angsty Archy.
9Vennart
In The Dead, Dead Wood

Basically Oceansize in 2020.
8Nothing
The Great Dismal
7Caspian
On Circles

While not making as quite an impact as Dust and Disquiet, Caspian continue in the direction of soulful post rock.

A Burial At Sea

I guess these guys are new, but I highly recommend this if you’re into heavier/mathy post rock like And So I Watch You From Afar.
5Fleet Foxes
Shore

A much needed bright light in this dark year.
4Oranssi Pazuzu
Mestarin Kynsi

Menacing psychedelic black metal.
3Greg Puciato
Child Soldier: Creator of God

A collection of songs not bound to any one genre. I’m a Greg fan and I enjoy most of his output, but the softer cuts on here is where he really shines.

Program Music III

This might be on par with Program Music I. This single 51 minute track album doesn’t feel like its length, and is always throwing something new at you without ever feeling jarring.

I Let It In And It Took Everything

Funny enough I didn’t care much for this album when I first heard it, but it’s grown to be one of my favorite albums of all time. The pacing of the album can seem very disorienting at first because it sounds like this album doesn’t know what it wants to be, but when it clicks it’s the most perfect blend of shoegaze and metalcore I’ve ever heard.
