Black Mirror Season 4 Ranked

The modern day Twilight Zone, but not as interesting and sometimes corny. List is best albums of 2017, but not as fleshed out, because I haven't listened to much this year.

Ok, so if you have ever seen the film Nebraska then you know what this episode suffers from. Unnecessary black and white! I don’t know if this was to cover up poor CGI or to hide the fact that they weren’t in a barren wasteland, but it is totally unnecessary. Second, is the fact that there is zero character development and I don’t care if this women dies to these “dogs” or not. Also, we are expected to care about this women’s inevitable death because she was getting a teddy bear for her child or something. This was not developed at all and I have no interest in this world or the turmoil that occurs in it. This doesn’t even feel like a Black Mirror episode!

Like most episodes of Black Mirror this had a fantastic concept. However, it was ruined by the ridiculous way it was handled. This episode at times seemed like an unintentional comedy. A women who is disgusted that she assisted in murder/body hiding of a person in her past, being “forced” to murder people who find out about this horrific past. The unintentional comedy of this episode is that I was just waiting for someone to find out about who she just murdered so she would have to murder them, so the cycle would continue. A fantastic idea about a machine that can recall one’s memories, being squandered on an unintentional comedy of a 100 pound women murdering everyone she comes in contact with for 30 minutes.

Common As Light and Love Are Red Valleys of Blood

4. Black Museum
The stories in this episode are fantasitic. They are easily the most interesting part of this episode. However, the ending is some dumbass M. Night Shyamalan twist BULLSHIT! What was behind those drapes could have been EASILY been way more interesting. Did it really have to end in some stupid ass twist that didn’t add anything to the story at all? Also, the guy in this episode was quite great.

4Perfume Genius
No Shape

3. Arkangel
I don’t have much to say about this episode really. It is a fairly well developed. However, the ending is somewhat comedic and somewhat unfulfilling.

5Tyler, the Creator
Flower Boy

2. Hang the DJ
This could and SHOULD have been the best episode of the season. However, the ending completely ruined the potential that this episode had going for it. SPOILERS!!!!!!!! The entire episode is beautifully set up in a way that makes me hope that these two lovers end up with one another. Or maybe that there is some interesting twist that makes me think about the events that I have just watched for 50 minutes. However, it ends in some bullshit way in which a dating app creates 1,000 simulations in which, as a couple, you either rebel or don’t. What is the fucking point of what I just watched for 50 minutes!

DAMN.

1. USS Callister
This episode may be somewhat cheesy, but it does provide the viewer with a decent sense of fulfillment and closure. It may not be fully fleshed out, but it does show a great sense of world development and does somewhat portray a moral code at the end of the episode. Sure, it does seem corny in its display of gaming culture, but overall it is the most entertaining display in the entire 4th season.
8ish/10
