I really try to give all music a chance and if i can't describe reasonably why I don't like an album I simply don't review it. If I review it i think it will just be a difference of opinion rather than a real problem in the writing or explanation that could be criticized, and then you're not really critiquing the review you're just hating on the man behind it. Besides, the first song is maybe the best opener of all time tbh. So it's not like I hate the album.

Honestly when you say "doesn't even really have a chance of being good" when referring to a description you're already being a bit close minded. Unless of course it's the most knuckleheaded description ever. But that's a review i'm not doing for a long time anyways.

talktothehead 03.04.17	good question. i find that the best way to start a new account is to make prolific reviews and even though I could do that by showing new stuff(maybe), I don't think the new stuff grasps enough attention. Besides, i'm mostly covering more basics nowadays than finding something no one's ever found before. Most of the stuff i have listened to that isn't reviewed is out of my league anyways(Tim Buckley). My original account has a lot of original reviews and discoveries. I'll definitely get to those sometime.
Frippertronics 03.04.17	The new stuff is what gets the site traffic. It won't help the site if you did the thousandth review for TDAG or Ten. Plus, you never know what could happen when you review new/obscure stuff -- you could have a Sunhouse scenario on your hands.

I guess it's a bit easier for me because even though I don't listen to super obscure stuff a lot of my music is country which means it's less likely to have a review than an equally popular (in the grand scheme) rock album.

But it usually surprises me anyways, I don't go out looking for it. By the way, 9 out of 17 of my original reviews where original reviews. 2 of them were major label new releases. And I didn't expect to do any of them until i found them.
