| My Personal Ranking of Thrice’s Discography
This is just how I feel about these albums, not meant to be objective in any way. Other opinions are of course welcomed, but comments like ‘number 4 should be number 1, this list sucks’ will be deleted. State your opinions without being a dick. | | 8 |  | Thrice
Identity Crisis
Thrice’s first album pales in comparison to anything else the band released, and doesn’t stand out much in comparison to its contemporaries, but it’s still a good release nonetheless. Just... don’t start here if your getting into the band. | | 7 |  | Thrice
Beggars
It’s a true testament to how great Thrice is that this is one of their less renowned albums, because it’s excellent. The band continued to explore sounds from the Alchemy Index, most specifically Air (my personal favorite sound from that release) and do so with grace and virtuosity. Again, no bad songs, just some less memorable ones. | | 6 |  | Thrice
Major/Minor
Another fantastic release, with some huge fan favorites (Anthology, Yellow Belly) and a good number of mine. It’s just that some of it doesn’t stand out so much. None of it is bad, it’s just that the album isn’t entirely well balanced, with the middle section containing less standouts. Still definitely worth checking out, but maybe once you’ve checked out the big releases first. | | 5 |  | Thrice
The Alchemy Index
This massive 24 song effort spans four genres and does all of which with more flair and confidence than most bands muster on a normal album. The only reason it ends up this low is that with this much ambition, a song or two is likely to be forgettable. But for the most part, the album is mostly free of that. The Illusion of Safety
Speaking of their sophomore effort, it’s just as good as the Artist in the Ambulance, from where I’m sitting, with TAITA winning out with nostalgia. It’s a more raw and fast effort than TAITA, and a massive step up from their debut. Again, required listening for this time period and genre, | | 3 |  | Thrice
The Artist in the Ambulance
The album that likely got you into Thrice, definitely their biggest one. A true early 2000’s classic, and one without a bad song on it. A clear step up in almost every way from their sophomore effort, and required listening if one is into this era and genre of music. | | 2 |  | Thrice
To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere
Objectively, Thrice’s comeback album is likely their best. A pummeling political release containing scathing indictments of the current state of affairs that never lets said indictments get in the way of the album, also while containing some of the best musicianship and production of any record of its type this century. | | 1 |  | Thrice
Vheissu
A release that stays well in touch with their heavier sound, but explores so many different genres and styles, and does all of which without putting a bad song on the album. It’s a sweeping epic concept album that improves on pretty much every Thrice album before it, and creates a unique and interesting sound at that.A top 10 Thrice songs list would be mainly composed of cuts from this. | |

for me. I didn't listen to 2 because the vocals I heard on a track really turned me off, and I've never bothered with 8. The record that gets the most rotation is the live double album they put out in 2008. | TheSpaceMan

11.04.17 | Switch 2 and 7 and you got the right list. 2's lyrics are without a doubt Thrice's worst (or rather, least interesting), and musically it feels a little watered down.
Thrice has been my favorite band for about 5 years now and I feel confident saying Beggars is their most underrated album. It's a lot softer but surprisingly deep. | Muppelope
