Astral Abortis
06.11.17 | Okay well clearly there are some things to change here.
The only true correct ranking is:
Abominations of Desolation
Altars of Madness
Gateways to Annihilation
Formulas Fatal to the Flesh
Blessed Are the Sick
Covenant
Heretic
Illud Divinum Insanus
Domination |
EphemeralEternity
06.11.17 | good ranking but expect to cop some heat for putting 8 last |

Papa Universe
06.11.17 | ^ you sick bastard |
TheNotrap
06.11.17 | Altars and Blessed are their best releases. Gateways is underrated in my opinion. |
artiswar
06.11.17 | Altars and Heretic should be 2 and 3. |
Astral Abortis
06.12.17 | Domination us the worst album ever made. Illud beats it just because it has some entertainment factor. |
Astral Abortis
06.12.17 | Literally can't think of an album less enjoyable than Domination |
Sinternet
06.12.17 | ignore snox his opinions are fucking retarded |

Maco097
06.12.17 | The first place is correct |
Astral Abortis
06.12.17 | Abominations isn't a demo, don't be an idiot. It was their first full length produced in a studio. Azagthoth decided to scrap it after Mike Browning beat the shit out of him and got kicked out of the band. Learn your death metal history. |
Koris
06.12.17 | 2 is 1 :] |
Koris
06.12.17 | Altars is 2 right after Covenant |
Maco097
06.12.17 | Abominations was regarded as a bootleg until Earache released it as a full-length in 91. |
Astral Abortis
06.12.17 | Lol dude you're actually wrong though. You can message Mike Browning right now on Facebook and find out the truth. Don't let the way that Azagthoth has ignored the album's existence stop the actual truth. They were recruited by David Vincent's label, he recorded their first full length in studio, the band was slated to release it and it had a full promotional campaign. You can even find flyers advertising its release as Morbid Angel's FIRST FULL LENGTH ALBUM but then Azagthoth slept with Mike Browning's girlfriend, Browning beat the shit out of him, the two fell out and Mike Browning was kicked out of the band. Then Azagthoth cancelled the release and got it put ten feet under while he worked on more demos with a new lineup until they signed to Earache and release Altars.
He may deny the band's actual history and the actual facts, and you may deny them as well, but the evidence is there and you're quite factually incorrect |
Astral Abortis
06.12.17 | Every website gets it wrong, because the facts have been skewed since the beginning. I just told you why. You can actually get the details from the man who started the band. And anyone in the scene in Florida at the time can tell you the same thing. |
Astral Abortis
06.12.17 | Pathetic ignorance backed up by no facts |
ScuroFantasma
06.12.17 | "I don't have to look things up like you kids and pretend I lived it through Google."
Are you a real person |
hal1ax
06.12.17 | only children use google! |
zaruyache
06.12.17 | It was their first recorded album but their first released album was Altars. So it's a semantic argument whether you want to consider an album sitting in a box for years to be that band's "first" if it wasn't ever "officially" released by them. Altars is sophomore btw. |
zaruyache
06.12.17 | LP is an arbitrary construct so who tf cares if an album is "long play" or not. Reign in Blood is an LP and it's like four minutes long. |
Inveigh
06.12.17 | Abominations is great, and it was supposed to be their first LP, but it wasn't. And it isn't. I call it an unreleased record. I'm fine with including it in a MA ranking though, because we're just arguing semantics.
Blessed Are the Sick
Altars of Madness
Formulas Fatal to the Flesh
Covenant
Gateways to Annihilation
Abominations of Desolation
Heretic
Domination
Illud
That's the ranking right there. |
Astral Abortis
06.12.17 | It literally can't be called a demo because it was recorded in studio with a real producer under a real label. There are actually no facts thay deny it being a full length studio album. The creator of the band has evidence, and he's easy to contact to boot. Yes, after Azagthoth cancelled the album's release, it WAS bootlegged on tape which circulated for a while, but a bootlegged tape of an unreleased studio album doesn't mean it's suddenly not what it is.
Hell, a similar thing happened to a Finnish band called Scum. They had a full length funded and recorded ready to be released but the label canned them and never released it. The album was only just put out properly last year by Blood Music. That doesn't make it a demo just because the release was delayed twenty years. |
Inveigh
06.12.17 | I agree it is not a demo, and while once a bootleg, no longer a bootleg either. But it does throw off their alphabetical naming convention ! |
Astral Abortis
06.12.17 | Well yeah Azagthoth pretends it doesn't exist, he even goes out of his way to make it seem like Browning was never even a member of the band. A couple of years ago he launched an official Morbid Angel website and cut Browning entirely out of thw band's history and skewed all the facts. |
Maco097
06.12.17 | I call it an unreleased record
You certainly can't call that an unreleased record since it actually was back in 1991. |
Inveigh
06.12.17 | I don't doubt the veracity of your claims, I guess it just doesn't matter much to me in terms of how I consume the (awesome) music. |
Inveigh
06.12.17 | Maco, bands put out "unreleased" collections/albums all the time and title them as such. Semantics though. Doesn't matter at all in the scheme of things. |
JasonCarne
06.12.17 | Domination is easily their best, ya'll trippin'. |
Flugmorph
06.12.17 | quite an interesting ranking.
