exactly what I wanted to say...what about Prince? |

12.06.20 | blanket statement for the majority of songs on that album: theyre all pretty solid but the album is generally lacking the diversity that makes them such a compelling band for me. i can understand the claim that it's one of their most "uniform" albums but as such it kinda falls into more generic territory, not particularly helped by the more basic riffing as well. its still like a 3.5 album tho its just deftones's standards are very very high. prince is one of its better tracks tho dig the rx queen vibes |

12.07.20 | finally, the correct amount of respect for 11/11. thank you |

12.07.20 | Ooo including the Team Sleep album is a nice twist
how did you not include blvd nights tho? |
onionbubs
12.07.20 | 11/11 deserves all the respect in the world. rob crow's voice is absolute magic
give bvld nights a stronger chorus and itd be here, or maybe just a stronger vocal delivery in the chorus chino sounds really off to me there, which sounds more jarring to me in the context of team sleep than in deftones where i can look past it a little more. i still like it tho |

12.11.20 | I haven't heard everything by them, but Digital Bath and Pink Maggit are favorites......nothing from Adrenaline or Gore? |

12.11.20 | Got to listen to more Deftones. I'm only familiar with the first 3 albums |

12.11.20 | im rather allergic to nu metal and adrenaline unfortunately flares that up. i more just accept that album isnt for me than outright think its bad, but i am really not a fan. gore is fine but kinda boring and has absolute ass production. t/t and rubicon are pretty great and would be the closest songs to getting on here, but theres still plenty of other stuff that didnt make it here that id put above them
was hard trimming this down even to 50 tho they j have so much great shit. hope you find the rest of their discog very rewarding, especially s/t and snw |

12.11.20 | yea ohms is all i could want out of a modern deftones album and remarkably fixes a lot of the problems i have w the last 3. has the uniformity of diamond eyes people often praise without having songs where you've heard like the whole thing by the time the first chorus ends, as well as having more diversity, much better production than the last 3 albums/pheNOMenal playing on behalf of sergio/just generally way more musical depth than they've had in a while. also crazy cohesive those transitions are seamless
only critique of mine personally is chino's performance is getting weaker but such is being a fan of an aging band |

Nah you're fine, DE is good but wayyyyy over-rated. I probably would have picked a different song though
I've never heard Lovers. Huh |
onionbubs
12.11.20 | lovers only made it onto the hexagram single and it's not even on streaming so its kinda lost to history. yt has it tho |
dctarga
12.11.20 | I'm listening to it right now and man, why oh why was this not on the album wtf. Dat riff doe |
onionbubs
12.11.20 | right? riff is absolutely crushing. chorus is so fucking cool as well. i adore that droning backing vox thing chino's doing that glides through the mix
iirc the song leaked early and thats why they dropped it from the tracklist but i could be mistaken. was actually supposed to be the albums title track |
YoYoMancuso
12.11.20 | DE is my fav Deftones but Beware is for sure their best song. Good pick |
