11.14.19 | I'm not a big fan of his earliest stuff tbh, bit too hammy n' histrionic - 'From Her to Eternity' is a flat 3 outta 5 for me. 'Tender Prey' is ok, some good some bad, only a 3.5.
I prefer where he went from 'Boatman's Call' onwards, just my personal taste.
90s stuff is in the middle, a little overrated perhaps - sort of 4/5 quality.
So '84' to '89 Cave gets a 3/5
'90 to '99 Cave gets a 4/5
overall I'd rate his career after '00 a 4.5/5 though it dips as low as 3.5 quality for individual albums in places

11.14.19 | Yeah I've been listening to Ghosteen and it's half of a good record imo. It's got good qualities in its ambiance and it can suck you in at times, but Nick's vox are just not there. |
