zakalwe 08.03.23	I platinumed this classic as well. Possibly my finest gaming achievement behind surviving in Shadow of the Beast II for about 5 minutes without using the ‘ten pints’ cheat. Best boss is clearly Ludwig.
JayEnder 08.03.23	I platinum'd the game too but never beat Laurence. I beat the two Fishing Hamlet well sharks before that bastard. Might go back and try to beat him someday, really wanna play Old Hunters again tbh. Ludwig is an absolute spectacle to behold.

JayEnder 08.03.23	Dude those things were a nightmare. I used the bone blade method but it took me like 50 tries to get it to work. You could just cheese them and take the back tunnel, kill the Winter Lanterns and camp up on that ledge and slash at them. They can still hit you but you have a much better chance of not getting r🦍d

JohnnyoftheWell 08.03.23	Well yeah the sharks + Orphan have both taken me to pieces however many times since, gonna credit it to my og built running off Blades of Mercy. went into Rakuyo/Chikage territory later on, and my reflexes definitely got lazy from it

AsleepInTheBack 08.03.23	I recall managing the camera against Pearl being harder than actually fighting Pearl. Love the boss design but JANK. Also recall it being more fun to fight in the chalices for some reason.
JohnnyoftheWell 08.03.23	Chalice fight was some mean bitch energy lol Don't think Paarl is balanced at all - fight is a straight DPS test and absolutely trivial if your weapon is the slightest bit above the threshold of ease + yeah fuck that camera. Love the aesthetic and the potentially enormous fuck you he poses to early game players who explore too much too fast or get plain unlucky, but he's hard jank-tier

JohnnyoftheWell 08.03.23	^yes the boss i never see get enough love is Abhorrent Beast - l o v e the intensity of that fight, feels like the most uncompromising parts of beast and human fights combined without any of the usual easy streets of either (parries/butt-clinging)
AsleepInTheBack 08.03.23	Is abhorrent beast just chalice other than the NPC in the woods? The chalice fight fucked me sideways, sweaty boi indeed, agreed re intensity and YES never made the connection to human fights but you’re right it has that flavour.
