Saddest Songs I Know

I'm addicted to morbidly depressing music, which also aligns with my taste in movies.
1Carissa's Wierd
Songs About Leaving

Low Budget Slow Motion Soundtrack Song for the Leaving Scene - "I'll just keep waiting for you" One of the few songs that has made me bawl, horribly sad band
2Joy Division
Closer

The Eternal - "Accept like a curse an unlucky deal" Song's about a kid Ian knew in his youth that never left his house and when he last saw him as an adult, he hadn't changed a bit. enough said
3Low
The Great Destroyer

Death of a Salesman - "I forgot all my songs the words now are wrong and I burned my guitar in a rage" Trading your music for an ordinary life. Low is one of my all time favorites and could own this list
4Jason Molina
Let Me Go, Let Me Go, Let Me Go

Let Me Go, Let Me Go, Let Me Go - "As long as there’s no forgiveness" Let me be forgotten. His voice is ghostly and tortured enough to make me sick
5Cat Power
What Would the Community Think

King Rides By - "Need your love more than you'll ever know" My personal favorite Cat Power record. She was obviously on some shit when this came out.
6Sun Kil Moon
Admiral Fell Promises

Alesund - "I felt them like a flame candle in my cold bones" Melancholic to the core, my heart always sinks hearing this
7The Smashing Pumpkins
Adore

Shame - "You’re gonna walk so far You’re gonna wonder who you are" Smashing Pumpkins' first four records are perfection. Adore takes the cake for being highly underrated and extremely somber. This song in particular I used to jam on walks back home from school. The best part of the track is when the bass hits after the second chorus which is the equivalent of an anvil lodged onto you from the sky.
8The Cure
Pornography

Siamese Twins - "Is it always like this?" Wow, Robert Smith's intricately weird imagery really pays off with this song. It's a strange but crushing song that I guess is about a soulless sexual experience.
9Xiu Xiu
Fabulous Muscles

Fabulous Muscles - "No romance, no sexiness but a star filled night" A very not good romance filled with freakish lyrics and a tortured voice lightly strumming guitar
10R.E.M.
Out of Time

Country Feedback - "It's crazy what you could've had I need this" Stipe writing from the stream of consciousness, this song is perfect at telling how erratic one can be facing a broken relationship
