Sunny Jazz (Week 9)

I have to say I'm far from knowledgeable about jazz as a whole, but I've enjoyed in recent weeks exploring the genre a bit more. Both of my picks are somewhat "entry-level", but great stuff to check out if you haven't heard them.
1Thelonious Monk
Straight, No Chaser

One of the greatest jazz pianists of all time, Thelonious Monk is one of my go-to artists. 1967's Straight, No Chaser is one of most acclaimed albums. Pretty accessible album that I'd recommend to anyone with an interest in jazz.
2Mahavishnu Orchestra
Birds of Fire

The band is one of the giants of the jazz fusion movement. Birds Of Fire is their 1973 sophomore release, often falling behind their classic debut The Inner Mounting Flame in terms of recognition. However, this is my favorite of their releases. Brilliant band!
3Miles Davis
In a Silent Way
