Oh how long it's been

Hey there my dudes and dudettes, sorry it's been a long hot minute since i've -properly- posted on this site, let alone done anything of actual meaningful importance (i.e a review). By and large there isn't truly an excuse aside from I just kind of...forgot??? Idk ily even those who are unbeknownst to me and if you are not known show yourself coward I have tasty jams to spread. m/ onward
1Majesties
Vast Reaches Unclaimed

I was enticed beyond reasonable proportions when I saw a member of Obsequiae was in this bad boy and oml I was not dissapointed. This like...Obsequiae meets Dark Tranquility and At the Gates but more blast beats??? God this thing has such wildly songwriting and fun structures and rippin riffs and solos and fuck jam it
2Insomnium
Anno 1696

Best Insomnium in like a decade aside from Winter's Gate. More ambitious, more cathartic, some truly blessed features (Sakis Tolis from Rotting Christ phlegmy snarls work wildly well on White Christ). Something about this feels like a more genuine passion project than they've had in some time and it strikes me heart good.
3Propagandhi
Potemkin City Limits

Not new to this particular album but upon revisiting it's -almost- as good as Supporting Caste. It's more calm and calculated which makes those moments of catharsis and rage hit immensely harder (Iterations i'm lookin at you baby. Also that track has the great guitar solo in the history of all solos and you can friggin fight me bud).
4Mac Miller
Circles

Idk what the hell kept me from checking this dudes later material for so damn long. Mac Miller is held to immensely high praise where i'm from (across the same state haha) and it's a fucking travesty his life had to derail how it did. Overcoming drug addiction and depression only to be pulled back in by the people who should have been helping him is a fucking travesty, a sadness that is only amplified by something this warm and comforting and blissful being his swansong. Comes a long, long ways from the days of Blue Slide Park. RIP u beautiful brother
5KEN mode
Null

Speaking of things that are grossly depressing, here's this! Seldom does music actually alter my mood-rather it tends to reflect whatever machinations are already happening. But if something ever sent me on a misanthropic thought loop than sweet lord did this noisy-chaotic-sludgy-doom laden son of a something do it. 10/10 would recommend if you wanna feel like mega dogass.
6Voivod
Synchro Anarchy

Tbh idk if i even love this but I got the vinyl cause it was pretty
Guitar and bass work are impeccable but for something reason I can only do Voivod vocals in short spurts before they kinda irk me. Good if you like alien thrash.
7Obsequiae
The Palms of Sorrowed Kings

Best skyrim metal
8Chat Pile
God's Country

Come back to Wilkes u fucking bastards
9To The Grave
Director’s Cuts

Is it just me or did Lorna really just inspire a legion of deathcore bands trying to make increasingly nightmarish and animalistic and phleghmy animal sounds??? It's all kinda surface level but fuck does it impress me when a vocalist can manage sounds ranging from garbage disposal to dog whistle to everything between. Oh also the riff near the end of Axe of Kindness is dummy good so uhhhh check this for meaty deathcore!
10Dangers
Anger

How friggin angry
