07.02.22 | Oh also don't forget a can of tomato sauce and tomato paste for thickening! Classico roasted garlic and basil slaps but if you make your own sauce slap that baddie in this good bowl of meat |

07.02.22 | Green chiles are wonderful
Would truly be a great addition, maybe I'll try making some chicken fajitas with some of them thrown in soon |

07.02.22 | take 1 lb diced pork and coat it with flour and chili powder. add salt and pepper. add a few tbsp of oil to a pot and fry pork. while pork is frying, take 16 oz of diced green chiles, 3 garlic cloves, a couple jalapeño peppers, and a couple habanero peppers, and blend them with a few oz water. when pork is browned add blended mixture along with another 16 oz of diced green chiles and 12 oz can of diced tomatoes. add 1 cup of water or chicken broth. simmer for 1 hour. then add 1 tsp of cumin and 1/8 cup of freshly chopped cilantro. Add water or chicken broth until desired consistency is achieved. simmer for another 30 minutes. salt and pepper to taste. |

07.02.22 | A few jalapeños and a few habaneros? I love jalapeños but admittedly habaneros are a bit too much spice for me.
This certainly sounds like a spicy dish, I'd probably half to tone down the peppers but tbh it sounds wicked. I'll make sure to try it yo |

07.02.22 | "If you don't like beans in your chili go back to preschool"
so fucking true |

07.03.22 | The beans are like
Honestly maybe the best part
Beans just got like, a wonderfully complimentary meat-ish texture that feels like a new meat amidst the meat
And they are tasty as hell

07.03.22 | Sounds good, do you serve it with pasta? |

07.03.22 | Also a bit of shredded cheddar cheese as a garnish is always cool |

07.03.22 | also beans are an excellent source of both protein and more importantly fiber to keep things regular |

07.03.22 | Whoever eats chili without beans gets banned
This is a rad recipe my dude, I like it. Might use it to replace my own sometime. Do you not use any broth for the meat, just the tomato sauce and paste? |

07.03.22 | @mars
I actually do not buttt I've considered it. I also just like an incredibly thick chili and broth doesss kinda thin it out but I'm sure one could accommodate with extra... everything else I suppose lol |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
07.03.22 | Not even close. Complete opposite in fact. Had chili far too often. Which seems like a much more intuitive reason to not like chili than having not had it. |

07.03.22 | List got me hot for chili |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
07.03.22 | Listen, I’ll let you cook your chili for me to try and convince me otherwise. Everyone thinks their chili is special. Just be aware I’m going to hurt your feeling when you ask me how it is. |
MarsKid
07.03.22 | Thicc chili do be good for the soul.
Normally I just use a standard ground beef recipe, brown the meat before inserting, cook in a slow cooker for some hours so it's ready when I'm off work/gym. How do you cook yours? Because I might actually try this. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
07.03.22 | And the fact that this thread begins with someone asserting that green chili is better than chili and you thought he meant that green chilies are better than red chilies bodes terribly for your dish 😂 |
Dedes
07.03.22 | @pots
Lmao fair enough I kid.
Chili is just a fantastic big pot meal for a family of 8 children (which was me amongst many brother and sisters)
Tbh I think my dad usually cooked it and he was rather a better cook than my mom but like...she cooked for 8 people, not for fine cuisine so it's all w/e |
Dedes
07.03.22 | @pots
I've never in my entire life heard of or seen a green chili
That is a foreign concept to me |
Dedes
07.03.22 | Also I didn't think that he was proclaiming green over red chiles buttt regardless I was clueless. Ofc whenever I post these end all be all concepts its all with a tincture of humor and bullshit lol, I'm a good cook but I ain't good enough to be that arrogant. Also @mars tbh I'll just brown the meat in the pot, toss in some of the seasoning, toss in the veggies, toss in some seasoning, then the sauce and...you get it, more seasoning. I think it's good with stews/soups/chili to season in layers to make sure everything is flavored well. Idk how long I cook it for, probably midrange heat for 45 minutes than slightly lower heat for another 30-40. Takes a bit but tbh I work from 8-6 almost everyday so I ain't got time for anything longer lol. Wish I did cause then I'd be making pierogies more often. |
MarsKid
07.03.22 | Okay, hmm... I am not sure how exactly this would translate to a slow cooker but I might try to figure it out. I'm usually so burnt out after my usual days that I'm in no mood to cook and I'd rather do something quick or make something in the morning that's ready at night. |
