Clover's Dopest 2016 Jams 2
Same as before, albums I listened to that I have rated a 3 and up because whats the point of directing attention to garbage? If you have any recs or would like to trash my music taste you are free to do so below! Remember to like, comment, and subscribe for more wacky pranks.
(All albums listened through the course of Jan 8th-31st) |
1 | | Gatsby's American Dream Ribbons and Sugar
[Pop Punk/Rock] Ribbons and Sugar has a very interesting sound in contrast to other pop rock groups during the same time. Melodies were far more out there, punk aspects drove harder, and the vocals swayed in a very odd, off rhythm fashion. They're an interesting band for sure, with a discography that expands beyond the main band with various one shot side projects, give them a looksee. 4/5 |
2 | | RATKING So It Goes
[Rap] Super promising up and coming rap group, keep an eye out for these guys. 4/5 |
3 | | NAH WOE
[Experimental Rap/Death Grips] The last release from NAH before becoming a full Death Grips knock off. Experimental hip hop with abrasive production and great features. You'll prolly like this. 3.5/5 |
4 | | Bones SKINNY
[Hip Hop] Deceitfully dark hip hop. 4/5 |
5 | | Slow Meadow Slow Meadow
[Ambient] Ambient instrumental sad stuff for sad times. 3.5/5 |
6 | | mormon toasterhead slack tide
[Folk/Lo-Fi/Post Rock] If I asked you what comes to mind when I say "mormon toasterhead" and you said "probs some experimental genre bending folk with post rock elements;" I'd call you a filthy liar. 3.5/5 |
7 | | Mal Devisa 4U
[Lo-fi/soul] Lo-fi Alabama Shakes. To be honest. 3.5/5 |
8 | | Obsidian Kingdom Mantiis
[Experimental Hardcore] New album hype! 4/5 |
9 | | Thomas Feiner & Anywhen The Opiates Revised
[Alternative] Sophisticated and gentlemanly in sound. The Opiates Revised is a deeply crooned album of exquisite sadness. 4.5/5 |
10 | | Natti Still Motion
[Rap] Woah a Cunninglynguists solo album that doesnt suck. 3.5/5 |
11 | | Riverside Anno Domini High Definition
[Prog Rock/Metal] The lovechild of Mike Patton, Maynard, and Steven Wilson making genre bending progressive rock. This is the best or worst thing ever depending on who you are. 4/5 |
12 | | Failure The Heart Is a Monster
[Grunge] Nice to see Failure still has it despite being dead for almost twenty years. 4/5 |
13 | | Pinegrove Everything So Far
[Alternative] Hard to define alternative rock group I've had an eye on for years. They just signed onto Run For Cover Records, so enjoy them before they start making garbage 90s worship. 4/5 |
14 | | Little Simz Age 101: Drop X
[Rap] Little Simz is as Little Simz does. Significantly weaker than the quality shes been churning out for the last two years, but it's a free gift with some fine cuts here and there so who cares? 3/5 |
15 | | She Chiptune Memories
[ChipPop] Cutesy chiptune pop music that will probably make most of you gag. 3/5 |
16 | | Harrison Fjord Pupsa in Space
[Psychedelia] Ok, so these guys are literally hipster indie rock cliches out the wazoo from name and appearance. But their actual music is so damn good, just take a listen to this wonder of a track to get an idea. 3.5/5

17 | | Elder (USA-MA) Lore
[Stoner/Progressive Rock] This jams hard. 4/5 |
18 | | Lost Salt Blood Purges Only the Youngest Grave
[Sputnikcore] Trying to actually describe this album's sound is hard to do in few words. It's more of an experience of style that you just have to check out if you haven't. 4/5 |
19 | | Fog Ether Teeth
[Indie Rock] The 1/2 of Hymie's Basement most people haven't listened to. Indie rock music with very interesting and experimental ideas. Give them a look! 4/5 |
20 | | 0edit Neotokyo
[Soundtracks/Electronic] 0edit's double album soundtrack for the Neotokyo video game. Outstanding OST with blends of rock, electronic, and other genres that you like. 4.5/5 |
21 | | single soul cold drone blues expanded
[Sputnikcore] YakNip's latest is also my favorite! The post-rock tracks are just simply outstanding, especially the closing track, and the rock tracks sounds like lost 90s gems. An all around solid release you have to check. 4/5 |
22 | | Anderson .Paak Malibu
[Pop] .Paak’s label debut is a cocky, confident, and fun listen. While some more coherency would be welcomed, I’m too busy jamming to really care. 3.5/5 |
23 | | Saturday Morning Soundtrack Saturday Morning Soundtrack
[Rap] The gut churning writing of a paranoid schizophrenic. Saturday Morning Soundtrack is a heavy, dark, and overall great rap group made up of ECID, Kristoff Krane, Capaciti, and Impulse. 4/5 |
24 | | Serenity in Murder The Highest Of Dystopia
[Metal] Cinematic death metal(?) hailing from Japan. While the music at hand is very easily impressive for it's genre, what makes it even more shocking is that the vocalist is female. Great production and outstanding vocals = great album. 4/5 |
25 | | Massive Attack Ritual Spirit
[Trip Hop/Electronic] I consider this a great return for Massive Attack after their 5 year "hiatus". Great blend of early era MA with the later era sound via Heligoland. Tricky and Young Father collabs are great. 4/5 |
26 | | TOOTHGRINDER Nocturnal Masquerade
[Hardcore/Genre Blending Crap] Genre blending metal bullcrap that im a sucker for. Very bold and energetic, just how i like it. 4/5 |
27 | | Massacre (NY) Killing Time
[Jazz/Experimental] Found these guys when I was looking up "noise jazz" during a convo with some friends. This is a pretty great “out there” album that really impresses with how weird it can be. 4/5 |
