11.29.20 | if you’re interested in the atmospheric side of black metal I highly recommend checking out practically any icelandic black metal band. highlights of that scene include Misthyrming, Skaphe, 0, and basically anything Dagur Gíslason (usually credit as D.G.) is involved in, Svartidaudi, Wormlust, Zhrine, Sinmara,etc. Andavald is another good one but their sound is much different from the overall Icelandic scene from what I recall. 0 is different as well.
if you like dissonant stuff Deathspell Omega’s Paracletus is one of the best bm albums ever made, imo. |

11.29.20 | I started listening to BM earlier this year. I kinda hate most extreme metal genres, but Black Metal is growing on me quite a bit. Bathory's first 4 albums got me into the genre, so I'd say that's a great place to start. I would also recommend Demon Master; they only have one LP, but it fuckin slaps like none other. |
