No denying its influence though, it deserves all the acclaim it gets, but after listening to it 500 times it gets to a point where you've heard it all before and don't really need to again. ANimals and WYWH are better. |

10.29.15 | Only three songs work outside the context of the album so it takes repeated listens to get. I'd say it deserves the acclaim. Think about it, it's Floyd's first concept album, the production is immaculate, it's got everything from guitar solos to sequencers to gospel singing. They'd been experimenting with different sounds until they finally landed on Darkside and then they pretty much rode that style for all the subsequent classics. I do agree WYWH is more refined though. |

Both are great albums for a lot of different kinds of recreational activities. Animals is heavily underrated, The Wall is heavily overrated to be honest when you compare it to the previous three albums. Roger Waters was the dictator of the group during The Wall and it got worse during The Final Cut. Pink Floyd should of stopped after he left to be honest because he is a better songwriter than David Gilmour. Guitar player? I really cannot say because I forget who does all of the solos. |
